Bay-- Ok, thought so. I loved doing somersaults underwater because you never have to worry about like, damaging your spinal cord. I guess having the wall near you when doing a "deep end turn" is different though.
You have to gauge it perfectly. If you wait too long to turn, you hit your head. Too soon, and you turn too far from the wall and can't get a decent kick-off, which drags your speed down.

Haha, it is at my parents house, so not really "mine", I guess. But I grew up living there and go there on a weekly basis, so I kinda still say it is mine. They are so much work & $$ though, so having one here (in MN) is kind of silly.
I remember being terrified to do a flip turn (I cannot call it a deep-end turn because I've never heard of it, and I swam for years).
My fear wasn't that I would hit my head--I was petrified I would bang the back of my ankles of the pool deck if I got too close. A girl on my team did that, and she was in a tremendous amount of pain.
I'd be the one TO hit my head. I once dove in and scraped my nose on the floor of the pool, BETWEEN MY EYES. How do you explain that to people? The scrape on my cheek, okay, but that one?
And I wonder why my parents never continued ballet lessons for me.

Well my mom has like a 4.5' above ground pool that she does not want anymore. Its pretty big, and I wanted to take it, but H said no. I know it is a lot of money and work and after a while it would probably just sit there. Now I want a hot tub and I cant have that either. My life is so hard. Hrumph.
Now that I actually read the 1st secret - it really seems like Whit. I was mostly in lurker stage at that point, but she's the only one I can remember that went away after things "went downhill" - but I also have a HORRIBLE knot memory. Especially from the lurker days. I liked her though
shannyn, FI drives me crazy. We are house-hunting, except not because we won't be able to afford it for at least a year, and one day he says he wants a yard big enough to put in a pool. And the next day I say, about a house he was looking at, that it doesn't have a big enough yard for a pool, and he says he doesn't want a pool.
I want a pool. A lot. I drool over the houses I see that already have them.

We lap swim around the bay in the lake. No turns necessary. Although sometimes you end up swimming twice the distance you thought you were swimming because there are no lines to keep you straight and you end up in the middle of the bay, or lake...

I know it doesn't SOUND like her to make that KPS. But she has been around TB. And updating her own blog.
Damn it. I almost didn't post after reading this cause I was like "oh noes, they'll think it's me." Then I realized that not posting might make it seem even MORE like me. So I'm posting. And it's not me. And I need the link to KPS because I never save it and always have to ask for the link.

I'm terrible at swimming underwater. I can't even do a somersault in the middle of a pool.
I liked the one about thinking it's weird that people cared so much about being noticed.

I am confused.
I'd be more inclined to think it was Whit than TJ.
