KPS

is making me laugh today.

What is with all of the people who are being so insecure?  Why would anyone be scared to post in the current climate on this board?  It's very weird.

But, the absorbed-twin thing is hilarious and crazy and I love it.  I feel like it's something I'd believe, cause I'm crazy too.

And last but not least, the swimming one- try and find a masters class at your local rec center, they'll teach you better form.  You're not alone!  :)

  • Totally agree on the weird insecurity posts. There are so many people on here that even well-liked posters get lost in the shuffle. If you need someone to say "you know, I really miss that poster, I wish with all my hear that she'd post again" then I think you need to have a little chat with yourself about self-esteem.

And I laughed at the mole/twin one. I feel like that's a great use of KPS - a truly embarrassing yet not particularly scandalous secret!
  • HAHAHA!! That mole thing made me LOL. Whoever that is should probably just get it checked out. :)

I am an okay swimmer and I definitely do not know how to do that turn thing at the end. I would just ask someone, I doubt anyone would look down on you. Just think they probably already know assuming you never do it.

I do not know why anyone would be scared to post? Some people will like you, some wont. Who cares?
  • Ok, so PSA:  Stop making KPS's about being scared to post here and you know... POST SOMETHING.  I'm sure if you haven't been around for awhile everyone will be like "Oh, hey what's up you, how's life?"  NOT "why are you back here beeeyotch?"

    Unless you're MrsE.  That's different.

  • I hope that poster is Whit and she comes back.  I miss her.
  • The deep end turn one made me laugh. I'm not laughing at your inability to do the turn, poster, I'm just laughing that you're that worried about it. Hey, I can barely hold my breath under water without holding my nose, k? It's all going to be allllll right.

  • I will admit that I'm a little embarassed to do laps at the pool because my skillz are pretty darn rusty.  I'm a good swimmer but I don't really know my strokes.

And I'm laughing at all these once a reg now a lurker ones too. Just post for crying out loud.

  • I guess it doesn't really look like a nipple.

I definitely agree with all the KPS' about being afraid to post or not feeling noticed.  There's times I've posted in threads where I feel like nobody notices what I said.  But then I just realize that I must not have said anything interesting to anyone, or my funny must be off, so whatever.

That mole one is pretty damn funny.

ETA: I mean I agree with PP's about those being ridiculous, not that I agree with how they feel.

Yes. That was exactly what I thought. It is probably a third nipple KPS poster!

I consider myself to be a strong swimmer, I don't ever remember learning how and I'm more than comfortable in deep water, lakes, the ocean, etc. and I have no clue how to do a deep end turn or how to do strokes properly. I hope that makes you feel better KPS person.
  • I don't think I've ever met anyone with a third nipple.  I'd definitely get that shizz removed.

Is it Mallrats that has the psychic with the third nipple that rubs it to think?  Then she pops it off and eats it?

  • nipples heehee

So we've had a bunch of those "I feel invisible/I feel threatened" posts, but even after we say "come out of lurking, lurker" I don't feel like we see an increase in activity from anyone.
  • Yep, Mallrats <3

I've met someone with a 3rd nipple, it looked really weird and not very nipple-y. But I also thought that pic was a nipple.

  • Not knowing a turn is nothing to be ashamed of.  I remember being on the team and having the coach (in exasperation) ask an older swimmer to help me out with it.  W/ever, coach.  I turn how I wan'!

Manda -- I wonder if they don't increas posting because they're scared of being "outed" as the one who sent in the KPS.

I've known of people with third nipples. My sister has a mole kind of around her cleavage and I always tell her it looks like a third nipple, but I'm pretty sure it's not.
  • Bay - there have been so many of them now though that I dont think we'd be able to tell lol.
  • I don't know anyone who has a third nip.  But I ♥ Mallrats.

  • I would not give someone a hard time if they posted and admitted it was their KPS.  I'd be like "well, good to have you back!"

  • Yes KPS poster, do not feel bad. I can swim okay, but I basically just flap my arms and legs so I am definitely not trained in any amount. Feel good that you are a good swimmer :)
  • I wouldn't either.  I understand being scared about posting; I was for months.  I was worried that someone would be like WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT.  THAT IS STUPID.  And I'd feel like a tool (kind of like when I first started posting back in 2009.  But admittedly, I posted some pretty stupid stuff back then).

  • Is a deep end turn kind of like doing a somersault with a kick at the end? I've never done it, but I'm just thinking logistics in my head.

  • Panda's method for dealing with someone calling me a tool- Step one: ask, "Am I being a tool?" If the answer is yes, admit I am a tool. Likely laugh at myself. Move on. If the answer is no, decide if it's worth pointing out that I don't think I'm being a tool. Likely laugh at myself. Move on. Step two: There is no step two, I've moved on.
