Thursday Confessions

Re: Thursday Confessions

  • If you can get to the link in my sig and do basic math, there should be no question about when I got pg. Yeah scoetto, I noticed that the other day, but that's not a baby bump, it's just a bad angle and some pudge. Now I want to change it... Here's my confession: I'm really sick of people giving their opinion on pregnancy who have never been pregnant.

  • Here's my confession: I'm really sick of people giving their opinion on pregnancy who have never been pregnant.Do you have any examples aside from your baby bump debate?

  • lsptl, nice pic.  It looks like it should be on the cover of a Clue game box.
  • huh.... I'm sorry.  I didn't know that one has to have had a baby before we can know that you don't typically start showing until you're in your second tri.
  • I confess I wish I were more witty and had more to say.  I confess that I am already sick of this whole wedding planning thing and really would rather just get it done and go away or even just pay someone to take care of it all and just tell me when to be where.
  • I'm always so surprised when Canadians have something the US doesn't have.  Like over the counter muscle relaxants. And now, Gravol.

  • I'm now officially jealous of Canada.

Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
  • I don't like when people say if you haven't experienced something, you can't have an opinion on it.  Actually, I can.  You may not agree, but that's okay, because it's my opinion.  You have yours, too, and it's fine if they're not the same.  And you know what, it's also okay for them to change over time.

  • I was the same way before getting pregnant, I called my mom last week freaking the hell out because my jeans wouldn't button. She said every woman in my family has shown early, and women who don't show until 14 weeks are freaks of nature (pretty sure she just said that to make me feel better). Seriously though, I had all sorts of preconceived notions before, and now half are being proved wrong. Everyone is different. That confession is a general one too, not specific to TK. Although yeah, the fact that most people don't understand how the duration of a pregnancy is calculated (LMP, not date of conception) really surprises me.

"Whatever East. You're just mad I RSVP'd "lame" to your pre-wedding sleepover."
  • My confession is that it's my friend's birthday today, but I really don't want to go out.  She's "requested" that we all dress up to go to a regular old bar/restaurant, where a t-shirt and jeans would be just fine and dandy.  Part of me is pissed that she's telling me what I have to wear and I don't want to go.  Plus, we're all walking there, and it looks like it's going to rain.  Nice dress + heels in rain = no fun. But she's a good friend, so I feel obligated to go. Boo.

  • I confess I love reading P&E but I hate the numerous "back when P&E was cool/funny/snarky/whatever" references.  Things change, different people insert a different dynamic. Its not better or worse, just life.I also hate when people make generalizations about pregnancy, child rearing, weddings, etc. Just because things went one way for you doesn't mean they will go that way for someone else.

  • Umm I've taken Plan B twice (another confession--only one of those was with DH) and never had any problems at all.  No nausea, nothing.

  • Sorry, opinion wasn't the best word. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, I'm just tired of hearing people who have never experienced something dismiss what's going on with me, or speculate about details.

  • I confess that FI and I are about to call off the wedding and elope.

  • In Whitson's new picture, her face kind of looks like floating head girl.

  • I don't care how the duration of a pregnancy is calculated.   Nor do I particularly care about anyone's pregnancy.  You're not creating the process people.  You're having a baby.  Millions have done so before this.  Millions will continue to do so.Even animals can figure out how to do it.You're not that special.Confession is good for the soul.

  • Wading, I agree with that. I try not to post about it too much, and I don't get why people care enough to question me on details I mention in passing.

  • And, on the OTC muscle relaxants.  We get Robax and various generic versions of it that you can buy on a drug store shelf.  Then there's Mersyndol which you have to ask the pharmacist for, but it's available without a script.  1/2 a pill of that stuff makes me non-functioning.But I love my Robax Platinum.

  • Another confession: Every week day at 11am, I sit down to watch 2 episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, 2 episodes of Full House and 2 episodes of What I Like About You.On Monday, this was preempted by a marathon of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. I actually threw a small tantrum.
On bed rest since Groundhog's Day and every day since has been exactly the same.

  • lpstl, that rant wasn't really directed at you at all.  Except the first sentence :)  After that it was a general rant at pregnant people in general. We're good, even though I had noticed the wedding picture that looked like you had a baby bump in your dress.  But there's a good chance that I will look like that too when all is said and done and hearing that would likely make me homicidal. :)

  • Yeah, stupid corset back was supposed to keep everything all smooth and flat. Does in most pics, but not that one apparently. I'm really just to the point where I want to tell everyone, myself included, to STFU about pg crap.

  • mwhitson - yep, that's right. I can work from anywhere, which is convenient, but also a downer because I can't convince myself not to lug along the laptop and work when on vacations and such. Or even just weekends.
