when dose it normaly take place??? The night before or can it be a couple of days befor the actual wedding??? Thanks

We did ours the night before the wedding, but it really depends on your schedule and the schedules of those in the wedding. I've seen it done the day of and 2 nights before, but wouldn't do it any earlier than that.

Ours was almost two nights before (because the church can have Friday weddings which would force our rehearsal to Thursday), but ended up the night before.  I think the main question/concern is whether you have any OOT WP or family you need/want there.  If they have to travel = taking more time off work.  Otherwise, I don't see why it would matter.

Although, I'll add I think it's best to do it only 1 or 2 nights before just because it might be odd to split it up and there's often a lot of other things going on.

We did our's Thursday evening and our wedding was Saturday. It worked out well for us.

If you have OOT guests that will be arriving the night before the wedding, it's nice to do it then so that they're not stranded that night. If everyone's local, however I suppose you could do it as early as the weekend before. In our case, we had a DW and everyone had to travel so we did it on Friday night.
