Holy. Crap.

A month from today, I will be married.Where the hell did all the time go? How am I going to last through another month of this panic? Why am I not more freaked out?Oh, and due to the number of "no's" we've received, I'm now able to send out B-list invites to my P&E friendies. Anyone want to make a trip to Nebraska on October 10??

Re: Holy. Crap.

  • So are you going to change your name to "REALLY-Soon-to-be Mrs. Vogt"?
  • I could totally make that happen. ;)

  • I have  a super fun filled weekend with my inlaws planned.  And it's my sister's bday on the 11th and her BF's on the 9th.  I am trying to fit it all into that weekend.

  • Okay, how about this: you move your wedding to say, Atlanta, and then I'll be there with bells on!! That shouldn't be too difficult, right?
  • 30 days!!  I had a wedding dream last night too and it was actually good.  Except we came home after the reception and our house had burned down.  Do you have a lot left to do?
  • I wish I could. :-(

  • YAY!!! I guess the problem with having Knottie friends is that we're almost all getting married soon (or recently have) and none of us can afford it. If I hit the Powerball in the next few weeks, Salt & I will travel together, I'll pay for both of us to come!

  • Eh, I have mostly meetings and follow up stuff to do but it's very time consuming.  I know what you mean about the leaves too.... our ceremony is outdoors (*hopefully*) so the only decor I want to have is nature.  Of course that could mean snow too because the midwest can't behave most of the time.
  • Where are you having your ceremony? I wanted an outdoor one in our park, but I just couldn't risk the weather, and the only way our pastor would reserve the church was with the fee. So, I figured we'll just go for the church.I'll double cross my fingers for no snow for us :)GA, I can't TELL you what I'm making for her. She'll read, silly :)

  • You're making me a present?! Holy crap I'm so excited! Don't tell me what it is. I love surprises. :) Georgia, I posted a live journal update on the bird condo last night (see below). I found two really cool wooden suitcases, and they went together fabulously. All I have to do is drill my bird holes and find perches, then seal it and I'm done! There's a blurry, messy pic in the post.
  • I'm not going to tell you what it is, in case it goes horribly wrong, then you won't be disappointed, and I'll just have to come up with something equally cool.Don't get your hopes super up though, it's just something small :)

  • It's at the Fountains Ballroom.  They can move it indoors that morning if we have to, and I love the inside, but it would save SO much set up time if we did it outside.  Our reception is inside and we already pushed back the ceremony so if we had to do it inside, I didn't figure in the time to tear down/re set up for a reception.  Wow, that was probably really confusing, sorry!
  • You are so sweet and thoughtful. I can't wait to see what you're up to!
  • Did you already have it booked when it burned down? That would have been SUPER stressful. I heard rebuilt version is really nice though, and it's good that you have the backup plan :)Bec - it's actually a big cow-shaped pillow that i'm making for you. It's to help you get over your fears. If you hug Betsy for 20 minutes every day, you will eventually be able to come visit my real life cows :)

  • AAAHhhhhhhhhh! *running away from this thread screaming with my hands flailing around my head.
  • Yeah, we had booked it almost 2 years ago and since I don't live there anymore we didnt' even hear about it until weeks later.  They completely lucked out by being done in time for summer so I knew we'd be ok, but I definitely freaked out a bit at first!  It is gorgeous, we walked through it while they were painting but I've yet to see it done.  Oh, and I remember you saying your reception was at a fair grounds?  I have been to 2 weddings at fg before and they were the most fun!  Seriously, we have another one this summer and I can't freaking wait!
  • Just kidding Bec. Love the reaction though. I told the cows while I was feeding them last night that you were afraid. One of them snorted at me. I thought it was funny :)Mag - yup, that's Iowa, I think. I love that area...the airport is in Omaha, so the land it sits on is Omaha. Everything surrounding it is Iowa. The river shifted, and the old border still stands. Next time you come through, we must meet up :)

  • Bec, I'll definitely backtrak and check it out! I'm sure it's awesome! I LOL'd picturing both the cow pillow, and Bec running from said pillow, screaming.
  • That's awesome. I'm so glad it was done in time for you. I've never been to a reception there, but hear so many good things about it! Ours is at the Cass County fairgrounds. I'm actually kind of excited about it...very laid back and fun place to have a reception. Which is good for our rowdy bunch of friends. FI's cousin got married at a hotel in downtown Lincoln, and everyone didn't know what to do with that. I think it was the first wedding in his family that was held somewhere other than a fairgrounds or expo building or something :)

  • I just had a vision of Vogt placing the pillow by Bec while she's sleeping and Bec waking up face to face with it and screaming!

  • Okay, I really laughed out loud at that Karen. And now Bec will never sleep with me in a 50 mile radius...

  • True story: When I was about 13 I was visiting my grandmother and my grody boy cousin came over with this MASSIVE pet tarantula. I was terrified of it, and he kept taunting me with it. I took a nap on the couch, and I woke up feeling something crawling on my belly. I screamed and threw it off, and the realized it was my grandmother's teacup chiuaua (sp?). FML.

  • Oh, that would be awful Bec! Was the doggy okay?I woke up screaming last night because I thought I felt a snake crawling across my leg (petrified of snakes)...turned out it was the belt to my bathrobe. Even wide awake, I was hesitant to tie the belt because I didn't want to touch the snake. I'm messed up.
    image
  • Yeah, the dog was fine, but she didn't come near me for a while after that. I do insane things in my sleep. And then it takes me a minute to fully wake up, so I can never be sure if I'm still dreaming or not. I would have probably woke up trying to kill the bath robe sash with one of my shoes!
  • I've hit FI before in my sleep because I was scared of whatever was in my dream. He just happened to be where my arm landed, but still :)He also says I giggle and gasp in my sleep. Given the psycho dreams I have, I guess I could see that happening. I'm sure I'm just a peach to lay next to.
