Best Moment

I kind of forgot that I have a thousand things to do before Rosh Hashanah, like baking for Saturday afternoon.  Now I have honey cakes in the oven.  I have a few minutes between things and I need something to read before my head explodes.  What was your best wedding moment or engagement moment?  Our was the second he broke the glass under the chuppah- in precision timing, he kissed me, the fireworks started, and Daft Punk One More Time started from :47.  I can't hear that song without getting all teary now.

The surreal moment of my favorite author on the phone, Buddy on one knee in front of me with a ring, and me with no pants on and a t-shirt from the 70s with a big sparkly decal saying "I'M NOT FAT, NATURE JUST OVERDID A GOOD THING."

I loved when we danced in the middle of our guests in a circle.  So much fun!  I also loved his vows.  They were awesome.  Very cheesy at moments but Mike can be pretty romantical and cheesy.

wedding moment was getting out for a few minutes while everyone was dancing and drinking.  We stood outside and the photographer was doing her thing while we were enjoying the cool weather, and talking about how freakin' awesome our wedding was - and how amazing it was that all those people right though the window were all there to celebrate us.

Our engagement: Sitting on a park bench drinking champagne and eating chocolate covered strawberries while people walked with their dogs on the path.

Our engagment: Recieveing a girft from Santa's grab bag at my parents Xmas eve party, opening it and turning around to see FI on his knee infront of my entire family.

The other best moment- at the wedding we played Mika Relax, everyone went crazy and during the instrumental break, there were strobes and we did poses, fuucking crazy.

Best engagement moment was at dinner. We had just gotten engaged 30 minutes before and I couldnt stop smiling/crying the whole time. It was a surreal moment.

Engagement moment - He asked me to marry him and I asked if he was joking. We had a good laugh and then of course I said yes. He flew all the way to Australia to ask me to marry him, so the proposal was even more special. Wedding moment - Probably during my vows when a boat let off its horn. I was nervous and it allowed everyone to laugh and allowed me to collect myself. Our JOP said "How's that for affirmation?" after the boat sounded its horn in the harbor.

best engagement: When I realized he was serious because he totally had tears in his eyes. When he surprised me with a ring a few weeks later I loved that he caught me on camera finding the ring and all I could say was "shut up."Also when we called his grandpa and his response was "well it's about damn time!"  And telling his mom on her birthday, it was the next day.

No, Sarah, it was the best wedding for us but not ever.  We roll with a bunch of characters, it probably would have been awkward at another wedding.

A few weeks after we got engaged we went to visit his parents. His brother and sister were both home from college. We all had a nice dinner and then his parents surprised us with a champagne toast. They all made speaches about how excited they were to be expanding their family to include my son and me. His dad's was the best. I cried. Then we went out into the front yard and set off fireworks like rednecks.

The speeches. I was worried my husband would be all awkward since hes a pretty shy guy but it was sweet, funny, it was great. His speech was good but our best mans speech was the one that made me cry. They were both fantastic. The whole day was incredible, but that part stands out to me.

so far it is when we were venue searching with my Mom, Dad, FI, FSIL, FMIL, FFIL and they all feel in love with my dream venue. Everyone had huge smiles when we booked it. Seeing everyone so happy made me even more excited for the wedding to come.Also, E happy almost new years

When he proposed, I was so focused on FI getting down on he knees that I didn't even notice that he had pointed up at the marquee to show me that it said Julie, I love you Will you marry me? So, it was great after I said Yes! and then saw the marquee and then saw that 1 of our friends was taking pictures. Also, it didn't dawn on me right away that we were at the same place where we first met. Once all those details hit me it was just amazing to me how much thought he put into the proposal and that sent me into even more of a total happiness and sensory overload.

Seriously though, this Sunday, we went to Claude for croissants and I saw the IFC and was like awww.  Have you ever had croissants or pastry from there?

Thank you, Nebb, for saying what I was just thinking.My favorite thing (so far) was when I picked him up to take him to our engagement party and he came outside in his black dress pants and shirt with pink tie and this ENORMOUS gaudy gold tie tack on it. I couldn't stop laughing.

That sucks, are you in NY?  You can join our group if you are.  I was alone a few years ago and he had to travel.  It was kind of hard but I went to services for younger people and it was nice.  I am making it to drop off to different people.

Our wedding is in a week, so no wedding moment yet. When we got engaged, it was just the two of us in our hotel room while we were on a family vacation. We went down to my parents' room to spread the news, and I waited a few minutes (everyone knew it was coming except my mom) for everyone to be in the room (my brother and SIL and nephew were there too). SIL saw the ring first, yelled for my brother, which got my dad's attention, and then he saw it. Mom was still oblivious. We made our announcement, and my dad stood up to shake FI's hand and welcome him to the family, turned to me and was crying. Yeah, I'm a daddy's girl. Nephew then began to dance, because FI was going to be "Uncle FI" and he liked that. He's telling everyone he's going to Vegas to get married with Emmie and (FI). I love that.
