if your wedding venue gave out the information on your per plate cost. A guest at tomorrow's wedding just called here looking for that info which of course I didn't give out. (I am assuming she wanted to know what gift amount to give.) However, I get these kind of calls often here and I am wondering if there are places that give this info out to callers? Would you be annoyed if they did give it out?

I would not care.  It is actually on their website so if anyone really wants to know, it would not be hard to find.

I really wouldn't care if the venue gave out the information because it is really easy to find online but I would just think a lot less of whoever called to find that out. If they are just coming for the food I wouldn't want them there anyway...plus if they are doing it to provide a gift  to "cover their plate", don't even buy a gift because obvisouly the couple doesn't mean that much to the guest. Seriously crazy that people even do that!

A girlfriend of mine was told by her best friend that it is proper etiquette.  I'm sure it was just a well meaning guest who thought that is what they should do.  It wouldn't bother me.
