Really weird leg hair question

Sorry if this is gross.I've noticed for the past few months, I have a bunch of hairs (mostly on the outside of one lower leg) that are ingrown.  Not in the big, red, irritated bump sense of the word, but literally both ends of the hair are in my skin.  They don't itch, they don't hurt, but they're so close to the skin that they don't shave off either.  So even after I shave, I have a bunch of random hairs that you can still kind of feel, and you can definitely see.  I've tried exfoliating, I've tried tweezing them (the hairs are too close to the skin to get a tweezers under, and since they're mostly on the outside of my lower leg, and I'm not a contortionist, they're hard for me to see as well).  They're driving me up the wall.  Halp?  Please?

Nair?  Maybe a spot of hair remover cream would loosen them.  At least enough to get the tweezers after them.

When this happens to me I normally scratch at the skin there until it kind of...opens up. Although, if you can't reach, I have no idea

I've thought about using soap with salicylic acid but my legs are so dry and I know it would dry it out more.  I do have face lotion with it though, so I think I'll try that.I can reach, Roxy, just can't get up close and personal to get a good look.  I've tried scratching and picking at them.  Didn't work.Nair might work too--doesn't it basically dissolve the hair?  I didn't think of that!

Well, I try, just for you Nair might be a good option. They're probably not long enough for waxing, huh? (plus, that would probably hurt pretty badly if they're ingrown)

Nair will make it worse as it only disolves hair above the skin. It will not disolve the plug causing this and actually will lead to more shedding and plugging. Instead use salcilic acid then warm bath then roughly towel dry your skin then moisterize

I have some of that from before I went to the dermatologist.  It's just been sitting around.  I guess it's found a new purpose.  Thanks, ffmaid!

I get a lot of ingrown hairs on my bikini area after waxing. You may just need to be patient and wait for your body to expel them. Products with salicylic acid are good as PP said (my facial scrub actually contains this). Also you can try any kind of lotion or astringent designed for after-waxing.

try PFB Vanish, it is for ingrown hairs. it works very well. it does have the salicylic acid in it though.

It's been a few months ac.  I wonder what caused it, I never noticed these before last spring.

Have you tried using a pumice stone? I know it sounds harsh and painful but if your real gentle it can take off the skin around it and expose it. Once you do that then nair it or whatever you want to do then like use something with salycic acid so it wont clog.
