Moosey - his bloodwork was clean, but they're still going to do a radiation/chemo combo treatment to be safe. I'm not sure on the specifics, I quit listening after I heard the doctor say he had cancer. I tried to listen and pay attention, but it was like my world came crashing down, I just couldn't. Luckily Mark heard everything. His doctor said he'd explain things further with me next week, once I had time to let it sink in.

Very. Mark is generally very healthy (well, was very healthy). So, yes, the doctors are very optimistic. Being caught so early, he has a 90% survival rate, and his san showed that it hasn't spread at all. Well that's great news then. Try to focus on the positive, it really does help.

Thinking of you & wishing you both strength.I, too, had a close friend with the same diagnosis and in Stage I: he is ten years in remission/completely cancer free, He's healthy, active & happy.I know it's the beginning but I hope it won't be long before Mark joins my friend in putting it all behind him. That is awful news, and Im so sorry. I am so glad they caught it early, because that definitley makes the prognisis better. There is power in positive thinking. Even though I don't know you guys, you will definitely be in my prayers.

His doctor said he'd explain things further with me next week, once I had time to let it sink in. This is so good to hear. It sounds like Mark's doctor is concerned with helping him beat this and with treating each of you as people, too. It sounds like he's in good hands.And as others have said, if there's anything I can do in the virtual world we live, please let me know. Also, keep us up to date on how he's doing.

Sorry to hear this. If it helps I know too many people who received the same diagnosis and all are happy and healthy years later. The recovery rate for this type of cancer is amazing.

Well, good luck at that appt next week, P2. One thing to bring up with his Dr before he starts treatments is fertility. It's something they decided my brother didn't care about and... well, you can't undo that.
