I know.  The sad part is, my mom is single and her job basically consists of going shopping every day and getting pedicures so she is being ridiculous about the whole thing.  She needs a man, or a hobby.  Her latest plan for her MOB dress, after concluding that NOTHING in the US will work for her, is to send a bolt of fabric on a plane with her friend's sister to Shanghai, along with a jacket she likes and a pair of pants, to have a pantsuit made.  She was mad because I didn't think this was the best idea ever.  Whatevs.

Brie - I think at final count my mom had 7 dresses/suits at her house before the wedding to choose from. Finding her a dress was wayyyy more important than finding me one.

Finding her a dress was wayyyy more important than finding me one.Oh, I empathize.  It's bad.  She's been looking since the week after we got engaged.  She is really acting like this is the "Brie's Mom's family" show, and in the process keeps suggesting/attempting to do some really hurtful/annoying/insensitive things towards FI and his family.  And when I call her on it, she thinks I'm a biitch.  Sigh.

Ive been watching the biggest loser, I hate that im watching it but its grabbed me, god I hate reality tv. Im ashamed to admit ive started watching it. After this im going to ice my knees and go to bed early! Hooray!

She was a little weird about him getting married, so I offered to help her shop for a dress because I thought if we had a pretty dress for her it would make her feel better... boy was that a dumb thing for me to do. I'm thinking for my wedding I will just stay out of it and let her wear a bucket on her head and hiking boots if that's what she wants.

sorry... i had to but in on the reality TV show thing... I don't watch late night reality TV, but I am addicted to Wife Swap on Lifetime at lunch.  Right now I'm stuck watching the NYY and LAA baseball game......of course I'll probably get to watch all the reality TV I want come the 1st of November because I'm getting laid off and don't have a job lined up yet... I guess that gives me some wedding planning time, but I'm kinda bored 'cause I got what I need done for now...

Sarah - I tried helping my mom for awhile but I finally had to give up. I'm not a big fan of her anyway so I really didn't give a shizzle what she wore. I like my mom fine and I'm pretty protective of her, but she's had incredibly low self esteem for years and won't get help for it no matter what I do. At this point, I'm just trying to insulate myself.

I honestly think she wants me to tell her "wear a pink dress with sleeves and roses and nothing else or else I will have a bridezilla fit."  I think the fact that I'm like, "I want you to wear something you feel great in" is throwing her for a loop.I just hope this Chinese pantsuit thing keeps her quiet for awhile, but probably not.

We had friends over for clam chowder (FI cooked), chicken, sweet potatoes, etc.  One couple brought their 7 week old baby boy... So sweet.  I have a picture of FI holding him, FI's a natural .
