Which watch? Or any other suggestions?

As I stated in the post below...I am a horrible wife I couldn't decide what to get David for our anniversary and I completely forgot to even write him a card. He, on the other hand, got me a wedding band to match my e-ring and a beautiful card. I want to get him something special that he can wear for years. He has a fake Chopard Gran Turismo with the rubber tire band. He hates metal bands, but I want to get him something casual, yet dressy enough for a suit at work if he gets promoted into management this winter. This is what he has: Should I get this (Brera Eterno, with leather band): Or this(Brera Militaire, with rubber band): Or any other great suggestions in the under $800 range?

  • Option 2 please.

  • I like the Brera Militaire

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • You guys are picking my favorite! I like how it looks vintage and elegant, but the rubber band makes it edgier and modern.

  • Movado has great men's watches---but I'd suggest avoiding rubber bands (they can get stinky).

  • Really? His fake Chopard has the rubber band but it never has gotten stinky. He only wears it a couple times a week though. His watches get pretty banged up at work. I like Movado, but I think the lines are too minimal for him. He likes the bulk and detail.

  • What about a leather band? Also, would he be into an antique watch?  I found some military style watches on eBay when looking for a watch for my dad.  There were some pretty cool old watches on there.  Mark is in line for an old watch that belonged to someone in WWI and it is dressy, yet quite manly.

  • I think my FI may be the stinky one then. He had a watch with a rubber band that he would wear all.the.time. and when he didtake it off, his wrist was always stinky. Thank god the watch broke.

  • Haha...stink wrist. A leather band would be col too. I was actually thinking of a vintage watch too. That would be a cool idea. I should go check out the 80 million pawn shops here.

  • I think I sold my watch last weekend while I was there...By the way, we are officially old.  We thought the music at XS sucked.  I mean, is a Beyonce or Britney song too much to ask for?  ;)

  • Haha...I will go buy your watch! What were they playing? I know they usually do the typical mix of dance/rap/house/with a little old school rock and 80s.

  • 80's and R&B?  methinks not.  At least last Saturday.  It seemed to be the same sort of rap over and over.  No different varieties and even the house sounded the same.  Don't get me wrong, 2 bottles of vodka plus 1 bottle of champagne later, we were feeling no pain.  However, we didn't get to dance nearly enough.  I remember they played a Jay Z song and then that was it...back to the same ole loud yelling.  I love hip hop but I just wasn't picking up what they were putting down.

  • Ugh....yeah, I swear the DJs get caught up on about 5 songs that they overplay about once an hour. And when they do play an awesome song they usually cut it really short. I think the music changes through the night....more rap heavy during the busiest time of the night. It's amazing after several drinks how I can find myself bouncing around to Kelly Clarkson, hehe.
