  • Leftover roast chicken from last night.  I'll probably put it in a tortilla with some garlic and herb cheese and make a quesadilla of sorts, maybe with some brown rice.Hmm.  That does sound pretty good.  Now I'm hungry.

  • I have some ground beef I need to use, so I'm just going to brown it, toss it with some sauce and fresh herbs from my garden, linguine, done.
  • No idea. FI is trying to leave the office early and is therefore cooking dinner this week. *scary*Just kidding, his cooking is fine, he just doesn't do it often. And I told him he could cook this week since he's getting home early, and he planned two dishes. *headdesk* So I guess I'm actually going to be cooking/telling him what to heat up most of the week.

  • Haha no I definitely do not, lpstl.  I just have been thinking all day of what to do with that package of beef I need to use.
  • Does everyone actually plan what they're going to have for dinner ahead of time?We do.  It makes grocery shopping more efficient and I don't have to think about dinner everday.  I usually plan a week at a time though.
  • true story: I have never once bought ground beef, any form of roast or shiity steak at a grocery store, ever. I get 1/2 a beef each year from my job - all the account managers do, it's all locally grown and usually delicious. We do buy good steaks (ribeyes) from our meat market though.

  • Orecchiette with some form of tomato sauce with spicy sausage, bell peppers and onions. And a caesar salad & bread. And wine, let's not forget that.

  • I'm making some corn and bell pepper chowder for friends (am delivering it tomorrow night) so I'll probably steal a bowl of that if I'm not too nauseous. Otherwise it will be toast and peanut butter again :-\

  • And to answer the initial question - I have no idea what's for supper tonight.  FI is cooking since he has a hunting budy down, so I'm assuming steak and potatos - that's his staple.
  • lpstl, we actually do plan in advance. Otherwise we'd end up eating fast food all the time and that gets gross.We're having grilled NY Strip, homemade garlic mashed potatoes & steamed veggies. Oh and pumpkin cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory (the frozen form from Costco).
  • Sadly, since I am now allowed soft cheese and deli meats again, I have been gorging on them. So diner tonight is Brie, Preschutto (sp?), and apple sandwiches, all washed down with wine or something caffienated.
  • I'll drink an extra one for you, sucrets!I love that I get to say "campus bar". I spent too many years on a dry campus.

  • lpstl - yes, but just because it makes shopping easier and I'm weird about planning ahead/being organized when it comes to certain things. But lots of times I'll just plan out 5-6 meals and shop for those ingredients, then decide the day-of what to make. Then we'll have leftovers for lunch during the week, and the day I don't plan for we're either out of the house/going out to dinner/eating something from the freezer.

  • Haha Brie I am after you! Thank Sucrets, last week was REALLY bad week. But I am trying to look at the pluses, deli meats, soft cheeses, caffiene, alcohol, no more m/s. Really enjoying the no more m/s.
