Ah... west coasters. I forgot it's still early out there. I haven't taken anything because what's keeping me up is my cough, and I don't have cough medicine. I suppose I could take Tamiflu to knock myself out, but I tend to fight sleep medicines. Anyone do anything fun today?

Ugh, that sucks.  Fi and I both had it a few weeks ago and it was unpleasant.  Tamiflu helped though, so that was good.  He had lots of body aches and I had lots of headaches...so annoying.  Hope you feel better soon

Thanks Koopa.  Right now I have a headache, a bad cough, and I'm pretty tired.  No fever though.  Hopefully FI and I will be better soon.  He already seems to be recovering.

I'm sorry to hear you're coming down with it too noelle! I hope you both get better. I took tamiflu when I got the flu earlier this year and that stuff knocked me out cold

Oh bummer about that - maybe taking the theraflu will atleast help your symptoms even if it doesn't help you get to sleep

Yeah I'm at work right now and I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately - I get home around 4ish and have been waking up between 8 and 9 for some reason and can't get back to sleep. I hate working nights

Haha.  Sounds good to me.  Sprite, didn't you say in the h1n1 thread that you have the flu? I haven't had the flu in 13 years, but I remember it being awful.  FOL indeed.

I have the swine flu almost for sure.  They didn't want me to come in to test for it.

It wouldn't be so bad really if I actually was busy but most nights it's like this where I don't have anything to do for atleast half an hour and then nothing to do for another hour after that

That sucks.  I hope you are getting better! I had to take FI to urgent care Monday because he passed out twice.  He tested positive for the flu, and they said it was most likely swine because it's the only thing going around right now.  Blargh.  Funny tidbit. I spoke to a nurse at my doctor's office about my symptoms and told her that I was in close contact with someone with the flu.  When I explained, her response was "Oh, so you were fiance-ing with your fiance before he was symptomatic, huh?" Haha.  That's a new phrase on me.

sapphire: can you bring a book to work or something (will your boss notice/care)? I only worked nights once when I was on a research cruise.  We had way too many people around for not very much work.  It wasn't too bad though because I just basically read during most of my shifts.

That is cute.  FI took care of me and has a fever as of this morning.  I'm hoping he is sound asleep right now.  He is roughly 2-3 days behind me in symptoms.

The funny (or not so funny) part is that FI was just trying to convince me tonight that his flu was a false positive since he just got a flu shot on friday.  After how I feel, I'm thinking not. He better not try that line of argument with me tomorrow.

I didn't get a flu shot but I'm wondering now if I should have with all this stuff going around lately - I guess I just saw myself in a low risk group and couldn't justify getting one when someone else might need it more

I got the regular flu shot.  It doesn't protect against swine.  I don't know about your area, but in Rhode Island, they JUST got the vaccine for h1n1 and are only giving it to kids right now.  You can check your state department of health website though, they'll have more info.

Yeah I just checked it and they're only giving it to kids and pregnant women of which I am neither.
