I need a hug

Some of you may remember my doggie was sick a few weeks ago.  She was doing better for a little while, but she had a major relapse a couple of days ago.  She was unable to walk, didn't want to eat, etc.We took her to the vet yesterday, and they basically said they can't do anything else for her and she's in intense pain.  We are taking her in today to put her to sleep.  We gave her lots of love last night, and I think she's done fighting.  She doesn't need to go through this anymore.It's going to be a really hard day

HUUUUUUGS!!OMG!       You're doing the right thing, it sucks though. We had to put my oldest cat down last December and I still get sad!  Staying with her last night and today is the best thing you can do.  FI & I were with Jack the whole time--it was hard but I was so adamant that he not think we abandoned him or anything.  I wanted him to know we were there til the very end. then we went and got a buzz on, because otherwise we would have been complete messes.

Oh Kiki, I am so very sorry. My dog is the love of the household, to the point where my mom and I are doing visitation weekends once I get married and move out. I think animals are very receptive of the feeling of love. I am sure you warmed her with all you did for her. (((hugs)))
