I need a hug

Re: I need a hug

  • Awe, I'm so sorry. Here's another hug from Iowa coming your way. At least she won't be in pain anymore. It's still sad, but hopefully remembering that helps.
  • I'm sorry, kiki.  Making that decision is so heartwrenching.  I am glad she won't be suffering anymore, but it's going to be tough for you guys.
  • I'm so sorry kiki! You are doing the right thing, but I'm sure it's terribly hard to say goodbye.
  • Thank you all so much for the love.  FI is really torn up and I wish I could do something for him, too :(  Our other dog and cat seem to know something is up and they're all over us.  I know it's the right thing, but it's one of the hardest things in the world.  I will definitely be there holding her until the very end, though.

  • I'm really sorry Kiki. *Hugs*
  • I'm sorry kiki :( DH, myself, Maribel, Hannah, Joseph, Petey, Jack, Margaret, Cammy, Angie, Smokey, Runt and Squirt all send their thoughts and wishes. If you think you can handle it (and maybe even if you think you can't), try to be there in the room with your doggie.  She will appreciate it so much, and as much as you may think it won't, it will help you heal. And for the love of god, DON'T read Rainbow Bridge yet.  Wait until tonight.

  • I have a quote for you from the monks of new skete. After I put Mango down in 2003 my parents gave me the book "I and dog" and it still makes me cry to read it. The biggest problem with dogs is that they don't live long enough. They always seem to leave us when we're most vulnerable, most in need of their biased, affirming presence. Dogs make us believe we can actually be as they see us, and it's often only when they're gone that we realize their role in what we've become.I got Willard, my lab, 2 months after Mango died. A week or so after he came home I had a dream that I was playing in a field with both of my pups at once. It made me very happy--I think that's what my heaven's going to be like :)
  • I'm so sorry. :-(

  • A couple more tears here, and some hugs.  I'm so sorry.  They're a member of the family, I know.  Try to take comfort in the fact that you're taking as much care of her now by helping her not be in pain as you have during the rest of her time with you.  Best wishes.
  • I'm so sorry you have had to make this decision. Virtual hugs to you.
  • Sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest in the world.  I'm sorry you have to go through this.
