Who's watching the Olympics?

Re: Who's watching the Olympics?

  • I've actually been really impressed with the BBC coverage here in the UK.  It's amazing!  The main/primetime coverage is on about 3 channels, with the main coverage on BBC One.  But they've opened up about 13 or 14 other channels to show literally every single event as it happens.

That's really amazing. All along I've thought that the UK seemed adorably excited about the Olympics.
  • During the last summer Olympics, I was at the bar for phelps last event. The whole bar chated USA, USA, USA during the event and everyone hugged each other after. That was my best memory of the Olympics.

</div><div>It's interesting that you say that.  I've actually met a lot of Brits who are completely indifferent, and view the whole thing as one big expensive hassle, and who honestly wish that this once-in-a-lifetime event WASN'T happening on their doorstep.   And a lot of people who just don't care about sports, at all.   It's kind of odd.

I've been watching the finals online so I can watch who wins and not have to avoid the whole internet in the mean time. The NBC site has everything live, but I get tired of watching on my computer. I did that enough when I didn't have cable. I want to watch it on my big tv, dang it.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Anyone else glad Lochte beat Phelps so solidly last night?

I'm just glad Lochte dominated period.

I think dominated needed to be bolded since he won my 3 seconds. Cray-zay!
