  • and that would be why probably close to 2/3 of weddings have drama associated with parents wanting x, y or z and having money held over their kids heads.  everyone i know who took money even in real life has had some level of drama over location, who to invite, etc. and its all because their parents infiltrated the entire process and they couldnt say no to the greenbacks.

    And I disgaree with you 100% on this.

    That didn't happen with M & E's wedding nor any one of the 10 recent weddings that I can think of off the top of my head.

    I'm sorry that your friends had so many problems though, it's usually a breeze from what I have experienced
  • Yeah, my dad paid for our wedding, ILs did the rehearsal dinner, and we had absolutely zero drama over any of it. I think you also have to remember that very few people are going to say "hey, my parents are paying for our wedding, and it's a breeze!" - they're only going to bring it up when it's "oh my god, I should never have accepted the money."
