Custom Dress in NYC - seamstress or dressmaker recommendations?

Hi Everyone, 

I am getting married in November 2010 in New York.

I am looking to have a custom dress made. I would like more of a cocktail dress - short, strapless, white. 

Does anyone have a great dressmaker or seamstress to recommend in the NYC area ?

I would be grateful for the suggestions!

I talked to her before I went dress shopping; I ended up buying off the rack, but was going to use her service if I went custom.  She's very attentive.

Gina at Adrienne's Bridal Salon on the LES.  She's fabulous.  She made my very elaborate gown with hand-placed Alecon lace in a month and a half.  Everyone who saw it said it was the most gorgeous gown they had ever seen.  And she did it for half what I would have paid for a similar gown off the rack.

My gown was very traditional, but her own style simpler, more modern.  She used to be a pattern maker for Vera Wang.  She's extremely talented, easy to work with, listens but also offers suggestions on how to make something even better than you had envisioned. 

Really, she was my favorite vendor, bar none.  If I ever need another dress made for another occasion, I will use her.

I am also in the hunt for a tea length wedding dress...I really do not know your buget but you could try Stephaine James Couture her dress a beautiful...They are now sold in Klienflield...Also I have found a web site Dolly-www.dollycouture.com. i hope this helps you..Please let us know of your finds....
