Are you effing kidding me?

Re: Are you effing kidding me?

  • FI did say that he didn't feel like he could call cause the guy was right there. They had some work thing to go to that evening and FI was going to hang out at home on the way. Well this guy helped him drop off his truck so he didn't feel like he could say no. FI doesn't think like me and knew the house was clean to most people's standards. He doesn't get that he could excuse himself to make the call.

I get riled up just thinking about it.

They live 30 minutes away, but he works in the town we live in.  That's when he does most of his drop ins.  CALL FROM WORK.

  • Unannounced people at 9 am reminds me that one time I went to bed drunk in my empty apartment so I slept naked because it was effing hot. I get a knock at the door around 9 or 10 in the morning an assumed it was then BF because we'd gotten in a fight the night before. Instead of getting dressed (because fluck getting dressed when your hungover and half asleep) I wrapped up in my blanket to answer the door. Not my BF, it was two sketchy maintenance guys to fix the fridge. Awesome. No call or text to warn me.

[QUOTE]J - I don't know if this is a national thing or just something in GA, but you can get a free cell phone. It's nothing fancy, and it comes with like 300 mins a month or something. Maybe you should suggest it to your ILs. It's not a bad idea to have a cell phone.

You can get free cell phones here but they're for like...domestic violence victims and stuff.  We want to buy them one.  FIL used to have one, but he kept it in the glove box of his car, turned off, "just in case."  Even if he had one, he wouldn't use it.  Sigh.

  • OMG Aryn. You probably made their day.

Either in middle or high school my grandmother picked me up last minute from home and we went running around together. I invited her in of course to show her something in my room. Later my dad found out she had come in the house and was so upset since it was "messy". I didn't understand it then but I do now.

<div>I've seen them advertised on tv here. They're presented as being for people that can't afford a plan and a phone. And for older people that don't want to pay for an expensive plan since they dont' use the phone often. It sucks that he wouldn't use it though. </div><div>
</div><div>Chrissy - I seriously hope that too. It made me tear up thinking about that poor dog being in pain for what was probably hours. </div>
  • J my FIL just got a cell phone last month. I feel like if he can do it, anyone can. He has an old truck so it made sense. You can break down and just knock on someone's door anymore lol

  • Can I share an unpop op?  I give no fuuucks about who Chick-Fil-A (or any other places like that) give their money and support to.  Would I donate money to them?  Nope.  But I'm not donating my money to them, I'm purchasing goods and services.  And last time I checked, we were all free to support whom/whatever we wanted.  And so are businesses.  And is anyone REALLY surprised by this?  I was not.  They've always struck me as a little weird.

I agree J & K. I don't like that they don't support certain things, but I'm not going to stop eating there either. No one makes a chicken sandwich like they do, sorry.

  • Heb - I was considering having some wine but then this storm rolled in. It's getting better now, but for a while there it sounded like someone was shooting off a cannon right outside my window. And while I don't have much experience, I have a feeling hta t would be even scarier if you're drunk.

  • I've had chicfila in the last week. It's so good. I'm sure every retailer/restaurant you patronize donates to some political campaign or organization or charity. It is what it is.

Petal - that's pretty much how I feel about it. I don't eat chick fil a often anyways, but if I ever want some effing good lemonade I'm going to go get some.

Yup.  At the same time, I've got no issue with the people who don't want to give them their money.  That's cool with me too.  However, I don't see why I should get burned at the stake if I don't feel the same way.

    Ginger peoples.
  • Yep, J. Yep.

Throat - Gurgle with warm salt water. Cough drops. Keep sipping water. Meds. That's all I've got.

  • I like throat spray.

My BFF is gay, and he's never had any problems at Chick Fil A. And IIRC he said he knew a manager there that was gay.  Or maybe it was just a shift leader. Not 100% sure.
  • I can't gargle (seriously, I choke myself).  I hate the way cough drops make my teeth feel.  My doctor's nurse told me that my steroid inhaler and nasal spray could be worsening it (I have post-URI laryngitis) so to stop them for a couple days and see if that helped.  I do not know what ginger peoples are.  Do they taste like soap?  Ginger tastes like soap.

This is why doctors hate me.

  • Real ginger does not taste like soap! They are ginger candies. Sometimes TJMaxx has them. You can probably get them on Amazon.
  • You're so difficult.

Do you have a problem with peppermints?
