Can we do an afternoon/evening thread?

Re: Can we do an afternoon/evening thread?

  • Aw poor Hobbes. I hope they had another pet or a child named Calvin. I love that comic.

Thought of another thing I watch H doesn't like. I've started watching Glee on Netflix.
  • Aw, poor Hobbes. Do you remember Mousse? We took him to a state park, walked into the lake with him, and dropped him in. He knows how to swim. If he didn't, I was right next to him.
  • H carried Baloo into the pool last night.  Baloo was less than pleased.  My dogs are not swimmers.  Sadie likes to play in shallow water, but she can't swim.  I am curious if she's like my mom's old doberman, though.  He couldn't swim unless he had a stick in his mouth.

  • My parents boarded all four of our collective dogs during our wedding weekend last year. The place has a pool, and my mom's miniature terrier LOVED it. We all thought she'd be afraid, but she went swimming every day. One time, she refused to come out, so someone had to go in and get her.
  • Afternoon everyone.  Can't wait to leave work and go eat some wings!

Speaking of annoying FB, this just happened:  One of my HS friends said something along the lines of "people can't stand to see a black man trying something new..."  Then proceeded to claim that she wasn't playing the race card.

    Ummmm WHAT?
  • Hi!

JESS! Congrats on the baby :)  I haven't seen you around in a while.

I'm bored. I think I need to get out of the house today, even if just for a drive. I tried practicing on my crutches around the backyard last night, but I still suck.

  • My big dog loves water. We used to take him to the pool in the summer, but not anymore since it's a lot more crowded these days.

[QUOTE]Home from the nail salon. I got my favorite guy so they look great. I'm thinking about taking some artwork (I use that term loosely) up to H's office so that he's not sitting in a blank room anymore.<strong> Moose can swim but he has so much hair that once it gets wet, he slowly starts to sink. :P

I'm sorry but this made me giggle, since we've seen pictures of Moose.

Edie, I liked a few of the Everclear songs (the ones on the radio in the 90s) but I feel like most of them were about the same thing - his dad abandoned him as a kid and he had a rough time of it.

My friends have a golden doodle and he is the biggest fluffiest cuddle ball ever.  They have a life jacket for him, because the minute he sees water he jumps straight in.  They take him out on their boat all the time.
  • Me too!  They actually got lucky and got him for under $1000, which I've heard is damn near impossible.

We got Copper a doggy life jacket for the pool. However, he still loathes it. <div>Maybe because his first experiences with the pool were falling in. :(</div>

  • Hi!  I worked until 3 and then attempted to swim laps in the pool.  I managed 20 - man, swimming is HARD!  This was only the second time I've tried but it makes me feel like I am dying.  I do enjoy the fact that my body is working hard yet I don't sweat, however.  Now I'm waiting for H to get home with dinner and researching hotels in Niagara Falls and Michigan - I still can't decide where I want to go!
  • We're solving the remote problem by having the number of tvs in the house equal to the number of people residing there.  Now the only problem is that we have to split up too often because we all want to watch something different.  And there's no snuggling that way.

I'm staying with my future stepson again tonight.  He is playing Lego Batman 2 and yelling at the tv the same way his daddy yells at football games.  I'm hearing a lot of 'oh, you gotta be kidding me'.  Later on FI's cousin and her daughter are coming over for awhile and we are going to eat pizza and discuss liberal democratic propaganda (according to FI).
  • Hello. It's 110 here, and any enthusiasm I had for dealing with major housework today is gone. I did get the laundry and dishes done, so at least I wasn't completely unproductive.  Made n appointment to look at another venue on Saturday. We really need to make up our minds.
