Re: FFF

  • Salt - exactly.  I feel bad because she obviously has alot of deep issues to allow men to use her body in exchange for money.  It's sad and yes, I thought differently of her after.

  • I forget who it is, but the girl whose FI is making her move a year before she finishes her Phd, yeah, her FI is a douche. And this is coming from the lady who has 'the worst husband eva!!!!' When H and I started dating, I told him that I didn't want to get serious if he wouldnt be willing to move for me if I needed to move for school. We could have bought a house a year before we did, but we didnt know where I would go to grad school, so we rented instead. I would NOT leave a PhD program to follow a man.

  • No she USED to do something like that before, now she works from home writing and doing other stuff.

  • All this TJ flaming is starting to make me uncomfortable. Feels too much like group think to me...or maybe the TJ love was group think?

FWIW I did enjoy reading her posts and generally I liked her.
  • I think Jessjo calling someone else's FI a douche is the funniest most ironic thing I've ever seen.

  • JEss, Rich isn't MAKING her do anything. She's making her own choices. SO no. He isn't a douche.

You better not tell me that you were one of the people that thought V6 was cool then. Because anyone that judges TJ and then thinks that V6 was the awesome is a big bag of hipocracy.

And you still shouldn't judge people for that. Yeah it's not the job you would choose, but stuff like that IS the world's oldest profession. Just because someone does something like that doesn't make them any less of a nice person.

  • I miss TJ.  I thought she was funny and was also a little bit worried about her considering the situation with her FI.
  • Oh I liked her too, don't get me wrong!  I was just saying, they had a lot of issues that seemed to get glossed over.  SInce someone else brought her up.

  • I miss TJ's posts. I always thought she was funny and her threads were usually interesting.

  • I didn't have a problem with TJ.  Most of her posts were funny or at least unoffensive to me.

I don't see what the big deal about "group think" is.  Group think is the way humans have survived for thousands of years.  We all think murder is bad.  Does the group think of us thinking murder is bad somehow negate the fact that murder, is in fact, bad?  Or is it only bad because we all think it's bad?

    Sh*t, I just confused myself.

  • I liked/like TJ.

I think she'd be the first one to tell you that her situation was weird and effed.

And Salt said about the escort thing what I was thinking, or more articulately and less whatthefucks.

  • Meh, I thought she was a big full of herself and didnt find her all that funny. I guess I was just never on the TJ bandwagon. I generally dislike the "I have a blog, did I mention I have a blog, just incase you didnt know I have a blog" type of people, though.
  • FYI

At the risk of being judged, MRM's bio is linked in my bio... under "favorite knottie bios" toward the bottom.

  • This started as a flame to capecodbride, but I am turning it more into an observation because I realized I havn't been on enough to really know her deal. I think it is weird when people we have never seen suddenly post a planning question on here. I mean, if you are new, you would not see Etiquette and post a planning question. If you are a lurker why bother posting that stuff here now?

MRM bothered me from the first time I really talked to her months and months ago. We commented on how we both have the same monograms and how we got married around the same time and then she started getting pretty condescending toward my wedding. I am obviously not some one who really cares if you hate my whole wedding but it was just odd for a spur of the moment buddy buddy talk.

  • And about group think.

I freaking HATE it when people get accused of group think because they agree with someone.

Like, you feel like you have to disagree with someone so people don't THINK youre THINKING like the group.

I know it's shocking, but sometimes people really do agree with each other. And that's ok.

I don't care that TJ is gone.  Bye.

I think Navybaby is an idiot.  I did way before that whole thread on BB where she kept trying to back up a brides horrible idea that they could have cateirng for 150 people without any staff at all, but that just cemented it.  I generally just hear "wha wha wha" when she talks.

I used to think that Laurenclare was one half of a lesbain couple because her FI looked like a butchy girl in the sigg she had up for a while.  Then I looked at her bio and realized he's a really cute, normal looking guy, that was just a really, REALLY bad picture of him.  I don't know if she still has it or not, I think she changed it at some point.  I actually felt pretty dumb, because I really thought that for at least a couple of weeks.

Dear Kiki, this is not a self-worth building center, its a message board.  Thanks.

WHERE THE FOFF HAS COLLEEN BEEN?!

  • Meh. Group think is no big deal, but the board's more interesting if ppl express their own opinion instead of going along with others.

I missed some of the later TJ stuff, so I think I was just surprised b/c the last I knew everyone seemed unnaturally in to her.

Oh, and I love having you around Nugget. You're one of my favorite posters, but don't get all AW and looking for attention like you did earlier in this thread. You're better than that. (now I sound like Stuart Smalley.)

Yeah exactly.  Just because a lot of people agree on something doesn't mean it's "group think".  I don't get that.

  • Also, I don't judge TJ if she was an "escort" or whatever.  Most people don't start out their lives wanting to do something like that.  More likely there are some pretty crappy circumstances going on to make a person consider doing that.
I judge people who judge escorts and the like but then think it's perfectly fine for their FI's to get strippers and stuff.  Double standard much?

Right, but sometimes people just agree.  So their opinion is the same and everyone elses.  That doesn't equal group think in my opinion.  Like if I say I like cheesecake and a bunch of you are all like "oh yeah it's so good" "oh me too, I totally love it" etc, that's not group think. We just agree.

Hmm...it's my understanding that escorts are not at all the same as strippers.
