Anyone around?

Re: Anyone around?

  • yeah, I have that fear too - although, I think that if you do chart, and do it correctly, you can tell fairly accurately when you're about to start, at least after a couple of months once you establish your natural pattern or something.  I think I heard that somewhere...
  • You all are making me very thankful that I am past safe child bearing years.

  • When we have our monthly wives meetings it always amazes me at how many 19 and 20 year old wives are there with an infant or toddler, and are KU again, all while their H is deployed.  I can't imagine doing that at 27, let alone 19.

  • Yeah, I didn't have any surprises.  You can't know FOR SURE weeks ahead of time, but you shouldn't be surprised the day of, really.  At least, once the artifical hormones are out of your system.  Which, for me, was pretty instant.

    And, Gross.  Just GROSS.

dnb, I can't do Salt & Vinegar chips.  Sour cream and Onion, though. . . watch out.  :)

  • My tongue will probably be swollen tomorrow, but it's so worth out.  I can't believe Lay's never came out with them in baked, but I love Target brand for doing it.

aMrs- Do you guys talk about adopting or anything?  Or are you happy with your stepchildren?

That is correct, Loopy. We have talked about doing NFP/FAM, but I am afraid as well. I hear it is very reliable for preventing or abtaining pregnancy, however, there is that part of me that is afraid it will happen too soon if we screw something up. And I would assume that you would have to abstain until you get the charting down well enough to know your cycles and fluids and all that good stuff. I don't know if that would go over well with H.  We would like to wait a few years.

And a used thermometer is just plain unsanitary and beyond disgusting.
  • Wait.  Swollen?  I missed something.

  • How did potato chips come into this conversation?  I want salt & vinegar chips - but there aren't any in the vending machines at work, or in my cupboard at home.
  • Haha from the vinegar.  Maybe swollen wasn't the best word.

  • On further recon - it looks like they are all new - but the main page the price says "new & used starting at $8.18" so I went all EW...
  • dnb mentioned them a page or two ago, and I forgot to respond at first.  :D

aMrs, any progress on a puppy?  Furbabies are pretty awesome too.  We've got 2 of the canine variety, and two of the equine variety.

  • Because I'm eating them and confessed my love for this kind.  Loopy look in Target for the Archer Farms brand baked salt and vinegar chips next time you go.  They are awesome.

  • squirrly are you feeling any movement yet?

  • Furbabies are indeed awesome. I didn't know how much I could love a little animal until we got our puppy. Never thought pets were in my life plan, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Haha, I definitely know what you mean by a "swollen" tongue. I hate when good food makes your mouth hurt later!

  • Ciara, yep.  For about 2 weeks now, I think.  Baby squirrel was having a dance party through pages 5 & 6 of this thread, even.  Not quite enough for H to feel, but I definitely can!

  • Beachy - I will do that.  I will probably end up at a Target in the next week :).
  • dnb, I am perfectly happy with the step kids.  They are 15 and 17 and almost self sufficient.  While I like the idea of a baby (natural or adopted) I am so not into the realities of cleaning up projectile vomiting and explosive poop at 3 AM.

Squirrely, no puppy.  I went to see him again and ask more questions.  It was raining.  I had to drive an hour home covered in mud, wet dog hair and smelling like wet dog.  Sooo not me.  I had forgotten just how much I hated the wet dog smell.  Plus  the woman told me that, because of our weather, short hair dogs shed all.the.freakin.time.

  • He's starting to get stronger and his kicks are getting really strong. DH sat on the couch last night with his hand on me just feeling all the kicks. I just ate 6 satsumas and now he is having a blast.

  • That works out great than aMrs.  H says all the time that he wants to just adopt 14 year olds so he doesn't have to deal with the baby and kid problems.  I told him i would handle the first 10 years, and he can handle the next 10 when they grow attitudes, start dating, and think we are the most embarrassing people ever.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • What are satsumas?
  • Our boxer sheds a TON.  The baby's room is going to be a dog-free zone so that I have ONE ROOM where there's no dog hair on the floor.  He needs to be brushed probably a lot more than we do, and furminated, but he HATES it and won't sit still.  So, I just vacuum and vacuum and vacuum.

And, he also has gas.  Tonight is no exception.  I am not amused.

  • Sometimes though the kids don't just THINK the parents are the most embarrassing people ever, the parents actually ARE the most embarrassing people ever.
  • Missy I just googled them because I was wondering the same thing.  They are like clementines.

  • They are mandarin oranges.

  • They are good kids.

SD is getting a bit of 17 yr old attitude and  the vocabulary of a truck driver, but I blame her WTT mother for that.

  • I'm with you Squirrly, dog gas is brutal. The very definition of silent but deadly.

Ok, I guess I was hoping it was a dessert of some sort. Google was my next step, but I was too lazy.

There is so much Christmas candy in the house, I am trying to refrain from eating it. Some we bought, but I have received a lot from the kids as well. It is just so tempting...
  • I have a boston terrier, and the breed is known for it's awful gas.  He gasses me out on a regular basis, and is even known to crop dust me.  The worst is when he walks into the bathroom while I'm going pee and crop dusts me, because of course I can't get up and leave.

  • I firmly believe that teenage years are meant to make children want to move out, and the parents ready to let them go :).
Nothing against people who do live at home into their 20's, but I could never have done that.  I would be in jail right now for killing my overprotective father :).
  • I've been buying the oranges instead of candy. I can eat half the box in one sitting. They are just so good. Plus they don't make me feel like crap after eating them like some stuff does.
