I have an employee who drives me up a wall most days. First she told me that her son (who is also an employee of mine) was going to be an usher in my wedding, even though NO ONE asked him or even mentioned the idea, then the story was that he expected my future husband to ask him to be an usher. Managed to get past that and now she is basically demanding that she and her son be invited to the wedding and that we should simply shut down the business for the wedding because it's not fair that she has to work and cannot attend. First of all, to clarify, she and her son were never on my guest list and I never planned on adding them. She keeps telling me how devastated her son is going to be because my fiancee and him are "so close", which they are not, at all. I tried to be nice and tell her that we have over 300 people on our guest list already that needed to be trimmed down and her response was "that includes my son right?" I kinda snapped and told her no, that does not include her son. She will not let the issue go and I am not sure how to deal with her anymore without being really harsh and mean, which I will do if the situation calls for it, but I am trying to avoid it coming to that if possible. Any suggestions??
