  • That would be fun Loopy! I bet customers liked it too, ;)

  • Practically all the drive in theaters have closed at home. I think there may be one left, but I would have to ask my parents to confirm that. I think there is one here in GA that people have talked about.

My Mom and Dad have so many drive in theater stories from back in their teen and dating years. Most of them are quite funny.
  • Is Braxton Hicks like false labor? I have heard of it before but can't remember what it is. Maybe I need to do a google search.
  • Drive-ins are great because you can bring all your own food and lawn chairs and get cozy with blankets once the sun goes down...It only sucks if its SUPER humid that night and the mosquitos get bad then.

Most definitely. And you get 2 movies for less than or about the price of one. We always brought insect repellant and those citronella or bug candles. That usually did the trick for us.
  • Braxton Hicks contractions are, as my nurse put it, practice contractions. They don't normally hurt and they don't cause any progress to be made.

  • Thanks Ciara - you described that better than I could have.
  • Thanks. That is exactly what it said when I looked it up.
  • J and I are watching Fargo now because after it being mentioned on the boards a few days ago, I decided he finally needed to see it.

  • I'm going to get going and clean up and go to bed.
  • I wish my H were here. I hate when he is on call. I feel so selfish, but he spends more time at work than he does at home.
  • Goodnight Loopy!

Have fun doing dishes. And get some rest. Good night.
  • Good night loopy!

  • Hey guys!  So Loopy's actually a wino tonight, eh?

I'm still putting our room back together since we got the new furniture today.  For the first time in 9 years, I have a bedroom that is not or does not look like a dorm room.  Hooray!

Anyway, I am mad at Home Depot.  This is the second time in recent months I have gone to get a specific item that was said to be in stock online, but I couldn't find it when I got to the store.  The associates agreed that their computer system said they were supposed to have four of the item I wanted, but they were nowhere to be found.  Shame Home Depot stockers.  Shame.

  • Hey docta!  Yay for the new furniture.

I see you have only 4 weeks left. I bet its getting exciting.

You could always go to Lowe's to see if they have something similar to what you were looking for.
  • Oh man I can't wait to make my room look un-dorm like, docta. Ours is so boring and plain. Sucks about Home Depot though. I usually end up with success at Menards.

  • Oh, no, I got it (right angle coax adapter).  I just had to drive to a different Home Depot, which is by where I do my Sunday Target and grocery run....  So I just did all my errands tonight instead of going back tomorrow.  Aaaand it meant that instead of Chipotle for dinner, we got Taco Bell.  Lame.

  • Ahh, gotcha. Well at least you got your errands done so tomorrow is more free? :)

Yeah, that's the only upside.  It forced my grumpy @ss to just bite the bullet and do everything tonight, lol.  So, I guess I'll work on one of my thesis chapters tomorrow?  Yay.

I know what you mean, Ciara.  My apartment before we bought our condo had white walls, white kitchen cabinets, white tile in the bathroom.....  you get the point.  As a result, we have not a single white wall in our house now.

  • I don't have plans for tomorrow. Probably just doing the same as today. I have my next OB appointment and NST on Monday.

Man, isn't it going to feel amazing to graduate? I still have 2 years after this May, and goodness that seems too far away.

No, I wish. I guess I could stay up there if I wanted since I am no longer working but H would have to fly back.

It will be a short trip up. H has his interview and hopefully the offer next Monday. I will be dropping him off and then I have 2 interviews. One of the preschools does not have anything currently open, but anticipates a pre-k position opening up soon. The other one has an immediate opening, so that one may or may not work out.

As soon as we have the offer letter in hand, then we can give notice to our apt office and figure out for sure when we are moving. It probably won't be for at least another month, but I will be ready if it happens sooner. I will have no excuse to not have this place packed and ready to go. We are actually bringing some stuff back with us next week to store at our parents house. The less we have to move the better.
  • All of our walls are that bad eggshell cream color. We have tan carpets that haven't been replaced in probably 10 years and are dirty as dirty can be. Our kitchen is mostly new as we had a pipe explode 4 years ago and had to have it torn out and redone but it was never fully finished. I love our location and that our landlord leaves us alone but he is also lazy about getting things done unless its an emergency.

  • I can't freaking wait to go back to school. I have put it on hold for 2 years. I also want a house, but think that once I get a good enough job, we can save faster for the house and just take out a loan for school. And after I get my teaching certificate, if I get a job in a district that will pay for my Master's, that is all the better.
  • Birdie - read The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst.  It's amazing.  It's my #2 favorite book of all time I think.  It's got a kind of love story in it, but not at all cheesy.
