I seriously can't believe that's a thing. When someone mentioned it the other day, I thought they were kidding. Nope. It's there.

By sports weddings do you mean sports themed weddings - or weddings during sporting events?

Agreed.  The very first theme over there is asking for sports themed love readings for her ceremony.  I can honestly say I never came across something like this in all my wedding research.

I guess I can't judge too much because we had our wedding at our alma mater.  Complete with the mascot at the reception.  But it was a very fine line between wedding and tailgate that I desperately tried not to blur despite DH's best attempts.

Loved their engagement pictures Chrissy but I think the kilt one takes the cake.  Though didn't they have the superhero t-shirts in one?  Might be a toss up.  :)

E and SB both are tough nuts to crack if you're a new poster.  Hell, I'm not new and I still feel on the fringe.  The problem comes when someone comes in balls blazing OMG-You'll-Never-Believe-What-I-Just-Read/Did/Said.  The 2 boards are so established that you just really can't do that - despite the name of said board.  I've noticed the more benign, legitimate questions are asked and answered with very little drama.

Or it could be the wine talking...

I just checked out the Sports Themed board and there is a person on there asking about a Friends themed wedding. Why would she post on that board?

Friends trivia is serious shiit, Poke.  Some might consider it a sport.

I do not understand why someone would want a themed wedding but to each their own I guess.

I don't understand how a Friends themed wedding would even work. Like - model it after Chandler and Monica's wedding?

If Friends trivia was a sport, I'd take the gold medal.

Poke, I prefer Phoebe & Mike's wedding actually - minus the snow.  I live in Phoenix after all.

I actually stayed away from the sangria, because I knew I would end up wasted if I started drinking it.  Actually, I think I might have had one cup early in the day when we were getting ready.  After that it was beer only.

Did they get married in the street?

Or could they do a Ross/Rachel wedding in Vegas complete with face paint?

Its weird, Girlie. I know you're in Phoenix, but for some reason my brain tells me you live in Alaska like half the time. wtf.

Also, I totally imagine stereotypical landscapes behind all of you when you post depending on your location.

Like, Chrissy, Ciara, and Spa always have a rainy Seattle-ish background in my head. FL posters have palm trees and the feeling of heat. etc.
