Re: Evening

  • Hi! I'm in a fantastical mood. I'm debating between knotting and reading Insurgent, but I think I have too much energy to read right now.

  • Ok I think I'm going to get off for a little while. I'm going to head to BB&B and pick up a wedding gift for Saturday. I'll probably be back later.
  • What are you in school for, Barbie?

Too much energy? Can I borrow some, J?
  • Hey Barbie! Congrats on finishing finals. :) I will need some books to read soon too! That is the best part of the summer, getting to read for fun! I think am I going to start with the Divergent series that everyone is talking about.
Angel, Nope, they didn't. They were knee-ish length, sort of just below the knee. I don't particularly care for long dresses, and all but one of my BMs are pretty short. They were adamant against long dresses anyway since it would've made them all look like midgets.
    Posted by musicalsunlight
I totally agree with this and I want mine in knee length dresses. They've known that all along, but the other day, 3 of them showed me a picture of a dress they liked in a magazine. It was long, ugly and the complete wrong color purple. I said, "No way, I don't like the color, fabric, style or length." And my one friend said to the others, "See, I told you that you wouldn't be able to get her on the color, style or fabric, but maybe the length." And I said, "No, not the length, I don't really like long dresses." And she was like, "Even in January??" And they all looked at me. Sooo yeah. Interesting story, right? I think I'm going to put them in knee length anyway. It's not like I'm asking them to stand outside. Plus, one of them had knee length dresses in her February wedding and there was a blizzard.

  • Sure MUNI! I don't know where it came from, I've been up since 5...but whatever! I just had a really good day.

  • Yay for good days, J! I could use some of that energy too, I'm wiped.

  • Stlrz - yes - we'll be unpacking and organizing and will take the calls as they come - and then we have a few to make afterwards :). Too much to hope that I might have a kitchen put together enough to throw a casserole in the oven Friday night? We have hired help coming to unload Friday morning.

I don't write that many checks.. so I guess I'm balancing the checking account (technically) but I have to put in all the debit card transactions and the bills and stuff that I've paid from the account online. And my transfer cleared so I need to pay off my car - but I procrastinated too long and missed business hours in OH... *oops*
  • What are your colors Angel?

  • Hey Barbie! Thanks! Glad you're done with finals - that's awesome.

I am surprisingly NOT tired today. I feel pretty good actually.
  • Hah, thats funny that they thought you would've wanted the long dress, out of all the things from the list. I think if you give them more freedom with the other components (color, style, etc), then length shouldn't be that big of a deal. If they are worried about cold, like you said, they will probably only be outside to go in and out of buildings. My girls actually were troopers and weathered the cold for a good 2 hours for pictures. It was 45 degrees, granted, but that is still chilly to walk around in a tiny dress.

I haven't been a BM yet but I'm dreading the day that I'm asked to wear a long dress. I hate them. Except when I wore them to prom, but that was prom.

  • I am so tired, I do not like being on my feet all day.

FI came home from work early & is making a big dinner to make up for being so stubborn as off late, he also did the grocery shopping and cleaned up a bit too, I really appreciate him trying =)

Tomorrow I have a short day since i just have a regional meeting and im not actually in work but i get paid for the entire day then I have friday off. Life is going by way too fast. haha

ok I really need to do laundry ...but my knees are soooo stiff....I never want to walk again.
  • Barbie - have you read the Divergent/Insurgent books yet? The 3rd one won't be out for like a YEAR though. What kinds of books do you like to read?

I am currently in school for Elementary Education, but I am really close to just switching to a Liberal Arts. I don't really plan on teaching, and it seems that actually getting in to student teach will be difficult for me. If I switch to Liberal Arts then I am pretty much done.

This is me. FI is always joking and ask me if I'm drunk. I tend to stumble around off balance even when I am only full of water.

Ha! Mine does the same. I have very poor depth perception, so I blame it on that a lot, but H will call me out on it when it's just because I wasn't paying attention or was clumsy. I also get bruises all the time, and H will remember where they came from and I won't. I'm so used to walking into things that it doesn't even make me blink, much less remember it ;)

  • Do you like historical fiction. Have you read Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett? I LOVED it. it was my favorite book I read in 2011. It's super long but SO good. It took me about 100 pages to get into it cause there's a lot of character introduction in the beginning but then I didn't want to put it down. There's also a sequel to it called World Without End that is set in the same location but 200 years later and has descendants of some of the original characters in it that is pretty good too.

Petal, I think my colors are going to be purple and silver. I haven't decided 100% yet because I haven't had to, but I think that's what I'm going to do.

I like this dress in African Violet:

  • I'm glad I'm not alone J.

Sometimes I will just be standing still and then start to tip over. Not good balance over here. I stand and lean in doorways a lot at work. Somehow I never manage to clean the door frame when I turn to leave. I am fairly pale and so my bruises are usually noticeable.

  • Hello!
Work's been crazy the past two weeks. A mystery box from BB&B showed up at the door today. It is WAYYY larger than anything we registered for, so I have NO idea what's in it. FI is at the baseball game though and I would feel bad for opening it without him.

Now I just have to sit here all night staring at the box, watching it taunt me.

I'm actually on the opposite end of the spectrum for dresses. I really like long dresses because there are only a few occassions that it is appropriate to wear long dresses. Weddings and being in the wedding party is one of them.

BUT I will say that it also depends on the formality of the wedding. Formal weddings I like long dresses, but much prefer short dresses at less formal weddings.
