I have been to Thailand many times.  Love it.  Go to Bangkok to shop, stay a day or two then head to other island, like Phket, Chiagma, etc.
Service is great there.

I will only spend a day or two in Bangkok.  And, I will probably spend 5/6 days in Phket.
