Keep the appointment?

So, during my quest for a videographer, I found two that fit in my budget and with my style.  I spoke to one on the phone and I really love his work.  He charges $2,000 for an unlimited number of hours. Let's call him videographer A.

I have an appointment next week with another videographer.  He charges $1,700 for six hours and $2,000 for 8 hours.  Let's call him videographer B.

Upon closer inspection, I prefer A's work to B.  Also, I feel like I'd be getting a better deal with A.  So, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to pick A.    So, do I cancel with B?  Or do I go with the understanding that he might be able to change my mind?

Re: Keep the appointment?

  • I see no real reason not to keep both appointments. Vendors don't expect, realistically, to get the business of every potential client they meet with.

Since you haven't completely made up your mind one way or the other, I would still meet with both possible videographers to get a feel for their approach to their work, personalities, etc.

How do you really know this though?  Did you see any of either photographer's work in person?

I saw the videos.  I already have a photographer, and I'm only looking for video.
  • First impressions can be deceiving.  I woud keepmy mind open and see both, if possible
  • Sorry I mis-wrote.  I meant videographer.   I don't think you can really decide if you like someone's work without actually meeting with them and viewing their work in person.  Did you see a whole video? or Just clips of videos online?  If I were you I would still meet both videographers in person.
