Morning!

Anyone around this morning? H and I are taking our nephew to see Madagascar 3 for his 4th birthday. I'm excited because I feel like I never get to see him anymore since my sister and BIL moved 50 minutes away.

What are you up to today?

Re: Morning!

  • We're just hanging out right now. It's incredibly humid here and a bit overcast so not as nice as it was yesterday, which is a shame. I think I'm just reading today.

I suppose most people are off this week for the 4th?
  • Just heading to bed, worked last night and working tonight. Sad I will be missing the Canada Day Festivities and fireworks. Oh well!
  • I only get Wednesday off but it's paid so that is awesome.
  • Morning.

I was so excited to sleep in today.  I made it to about 6:50.   Oh well, at least I feel well rested.

Today we are going shopping for some clothes and water shoes for our tubing trip coming up next weekend.   Other than that I think we are going to just stay in to get out of the stupid heat and humidity.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Wow. I just got hit with a wave of sleepiness.

Ya'll stay cool today. I'll be back later, I'm sure. :)

Have fun at the movie, Aleigh!
  • Morning :)

The only reason I'm up this early is because I'm singing at our church this morning and I have to be there early for rehearsal.

In other news, I found out last night that if you REALLY complain to the manager AND pull the pregnancy card at Chili's, your whole meal will be comped if you have a nice manager.

We got there at 8:30 and didn't leave until after 10 because our waitress sucked that badly. That was the most tempted I've ever been to walk out on a meal without paying, because I was so desparate to leave.
  • Morning.

Some neighbors decided that June 30 at 10:00 pm was the perfect time to celebrate the 4th.  And not just for 5 or 10 minutes.  It went on for over half an hour.  BB slept through it all, though.

  • Hey Jess, my sister is due September 15th as well. And it's a boy haha.
  • So our photographer said it would take 4-6 weeks to get all of our pictures back but she would upload like 100 at a time on her website to give us something to look at until we get our CD. It was 6 weeks yesterday and she only update 100 pictures and that was like 3 or 4 weeks ago. She's killing me.
  • That's funny that we have the same due date & it's a boy! :) What is she naming him? If you tell me Nathan, I'm going to insist that you're actually my sister in disguise. ;)

Re: Photographer...UM WTF. I'd be so annoyed...and only upload them 100 at a time? Whatever, just get to work and get them uploaded! I'm sure you paid PLENTY for that photographer.
  • No. It's Dayson. I wish it were Nathan. I swear I don't know where she comes up with these names. My nephew is named Dreyden.
  • I know someone who just had a kid named Dayson as well. That's pretty trendy these days,

No offensse to your sister, but Dreyden? I've never heard of that one!

I'm really over the Hayden, Aiden, Brayden, Jayden, etc trend. It's a little overdone.

Granted, Nathan has been a popular name forever, but it's a classic. :)
  • Morning!  Looks like another hot one today - I just hope it doesn't rain (or if it does rain, that it's much later) because H's family is coming over to swim.  Last time we tried this the weather was crappy so we had to stay indoors, which is tough with a rambunctious 4-year old.  It will be much more fun if we can use the pool  That's all I got today!
  • Good morning!  I'm drinking some coffee and being lazy still.  It has been storming here so much lately, and the heat and humidity is keeping me from doing anything outside today.  I'm ready for a break in at least the humidity so I can get some stuff done outside and let the dogs out for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Also, I am ridiculously pumped that it's now July, and hope this month flies by as fast as June did.

  • Morning everyone.  I finished grocery shopping, and cleaning up (because the stupid bagger put a heavy 6 pack of v8 on top of my dish soap, which opened and squirted all over the inside of the bag)...and now I am being lazy.

My ultimate goal is to take a shower and then go to the pool for a few hours, before I have to head over to my landlord's and drop off the rent later on.
  • Me too Beachy, I'm ready for summer to be over. I'm not a big fan of my summer job so I'm looking forward to going back to my school-year job and my internship.
  • Beachy, your H comes home this month, right?????  Woohoo!
  • I would love to get a job for this school year, but am at least getting myself on the sub list for my local school dstrict and can hopefully get at least a few days a week.  I am still okay with summer being here, just ready for H to get here and enjoy the house and deck and yard with me for a while before it gets too cold.

  • Not yet Abbs, next month.  But we're getting there, and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

  • I feel like I'm in some weird universe where every other place in the country is getting rain and thunderstorms, but we just have clear skies and sunshine.  I'm not complaining so much as just feeling confused about it.  I love a good thunderstorm.

I'm off to brunch with friends in a few.  I'm sad to hear that people dislike summer so much - it's my favorite.  Heat, humidity - I'll take it all.  My husband and I walked home at 1am last night in the warm weather.  I love that.  I despise fall and winter so I'm soaking up every bit of summer!
  • Beachy, I'm so excited for your H to come home!
  • Thanks, me too!  There have definitely been times where it felt like he was never coming home, so it's amazing just to be able to think about it now and realize we're getting there.

I started P90X this week and my legs are really tired today.  I'm not as sore as I thought I would be, my legs are just exhausted.  But after being so lazy for so long I need an extreme workout.

  • Good morning!  Swimming sounds so good today.  It's supposed to be around 95 I think today, which is a nice cool down from the 100-106 its been for the past week.  Yay Texas summers.......

aleigh, sorry your photographer is dropping the ball here.  What's the point of uploading 100 pictures at a time?  I hope you are able to talk to her next week and get it sorted out!

We are going to watch fireworks tonight.  There's a lake in the area where a guy has built his own catamaran and takes you sailing for 2 hours.  It's a pretty awesome little vacation away from the city, AND with fireworks?  $25 well spent.

<div>So we don't feel like we're waiting so long for pictures. But that didn't really work out. I sent her an email Friday. I'll give her until the end of the week (since it's a holiday) before I start calling her.</div>
  • I'm around. I'm working on stuff around the house for our 4th of July Rib Cook off. I'm mixing up my spice rub and making my honey whiskey barbecue sauce today.

And I am so over the heat. No air conditioning in a house made of bricks, I feel like I am literally going to melt.

</div><div>I think giving her until the end of the week is a good idea.  I think six weeks is a reasonable turnaround time for wedding photos, but it sounds like she said more than 100 would be uploaded by now.  If I misread that, I'm sorry!

  • Good morning! I about died walking Sasha this morning. 10 minutes in and she was panting like crazy and I was already sweating.

I commend those who do P90X or any other intense work-out regime. I simply do not have that kind of self-discipline.
  • I really want Cards Against Humanity. Every time I've tried to buy it, it's been out of stock. :(

  • Good morning ladies!
  • Awesome. This will get played a lot.
