merry Christmas Midge.

I'm jealous you get to go home. Not only is it slow here but they turned down the heat. My desk is in the coldest corner of the office. I'm freezing.

I just have to make it until 2:30, and then I am FREE.  I have to get stuff prepped to bake bread pudding tomorrow.  I really hope it comes out well.
MUN, agree about the crazies. Where do those people come from anyway. I always wonder if they behave so badly IRL too or if they just break out the crazy for the interwebs.
    Posted by Liatris2010
I was gone for a bit and missed this, but yeah- i think they are probably self-entitled a$$holes IRL too.

Mmmm... bread pudding.  That's one of my favorite desserts.

Do you have a recipe yet?

If not, I just got this one from a coworker - it was delicious.  She actually made them in a muffin pan too so they were all nice and individually sized.

I'm making white chocolate bread pudding (google Cafe Bistro white chocolate bread pudding) and an orange chocolate bread pudding from Food Network.  I'm excited, I just hope it's not too rich for H's family.  My SIL is bringing banana pudding, so they'll at least have another option if they don't like it.

I will tone down the article posting.  I didn't realize it was that many teaching ones.  I looked in my history and I did one earlier this week about the DS kid being suspended and another yesterday about organ donation.  I'd hardly call that anything even close to what Dot has been doing lately. I will keep an eye on it though.

I will be a lame flamer and halfway get on Celles flame of Eagles.  Eagles is a nice person so I know her intentions were in a great place (which I give her props for), I just felt like she overreacted too much.  I guess I cant speak for everyone else, but I don't think their intention of bringing up the LDY thing was in any way to provoke her or flame her.  My sarcasm fails from the summer were brought up, but I didn't in any way take it as a flame.  It was more reminiscing than anything.  So basically, Eagles, it was okay that you defended her, but once people started to explain that it wasn't a flame or bait, I feel like you didn't need to keep being hyper about it.

I was just going to make a "what should I make?" thread. My MIL called and asked if I could bring dessert for Christmas dinner. What are some good desserts that don't have chocolate? My H hates chocolate and since I'm making the dessert I guess I should make something he likes too.

I have to make cake pops. The cake is in the oven but I am so baked out I'm not looking forward to it.
I didn't get to play at SS. <strong>I asked for in, but got left out. Not cool enough to exchange gifts with the cool kids. :(</strong> If I got you LDY I would have sent your stuff on time. I can pack a flat rate priority box with the best of them.

Its not about being cool, but its about giving your address out to strangers. Maybe next year you will be "cool" enough.

Does he just not like regular chocolate, or is white chocolate out too?  Because the white chocolate bread pudding is seriously amazing.</div>
Adamar, I love white chocolate.  Do you cook a lot?

I cook a fair amount, but I don't bake very often.  Baking is too much of an exact science for me.  I like just throwing a bunch of stuff together and hoping it turns out well.</div>

White chocolate bread pudding sounds so yummy! I am making haystacks tonight for the first time, I hope they turn out alright.

Don't buy the machine, that's the easy part. Bake a cake. Crumble it up with canned icing. Use a mellon baller to make little balls. Then the biitch is dipping it in the chocolate and the machine doesn't help with that.

No chocolate of any kind. He is so lame like that! ;) He allergic to PB too, and most of my favorite desserts are peanut butter and chocolate.

Dutch apple pie is my go-to dessert and doesn't have chocolate.  I also make caramel corn at the holidays.  And I made a really yummy pumpkin cheesecake-y recipe I found on pinterest for Thanksgiving that was a hit (graham cracker bottom, then a creamcheese-mix layer, then a pumpkin-mix layer)  Let me know if you want any recipes

That's true LVB. I hate trying to get my PB balls in the chocolate when I make them. They always come out lumpy and ugly looking.

H is actually the one who taught me the basics of cooking.  Working in a decent restaurant really helped too.  Now I kick his ass in the kitchen.  He's the better baker, though.

Lia, I didn't even throw my name into the SS pot because of all the drama from the food swap. That and one person decided to filter out the "newbs" and I never interacted with them and didn't want to be rejected. Maybe next year.

    Hi everyone!

    I'm sad I missed Salt.

I'm fairly certain everyone hit the flames I would have had if I wasn't feeling too politically correct.

I thought that was interesting too, Meg that it was one person's job to filter newbs.  Maybe if it had been Mica or Birdie (i.e. mods) it wouldn't have seemed weird to me.  But what do I know 'bout that stuff?

Merry Christmas LDY, Midge, and all.

LDY, you and I should have been SS because mine SS didn't happen either.  That would have been fun.

Cake pop machine?  Please explain.  Cake pops look like a lot of work.
