Favorite TV Moments

Okay, so for all of you Bones-ers out there, did you see the preview for next week's episode?  Bones is all weepy to Booth about how she made a mistake and missed her chance?  Squeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Anyway, it made me think about other favorite TV moments of mine.

The first was Season 7, Episode 4 (Millennium) of X-Files.  On November 28th, 1999 at approximately 8:55 CST, Mulder and Scully kissed for reals.  No, I did not have to look that up.  I will forever remember it because it was my 16th birthday.  Mulder and Scully had their first real kiss on my 16th birthday.  Best. birthday. present. ever.  And because we knew it was gonna happen, I decided to have an X-Files themed birthday party for my fellow shippers and me.  So my parents had a house full of 15/16 year old girls going "ZOMG!  Mulder and Scully are kissing!!!!! Squeeeeeeeeeeee!"  They must've wondered what the hell they got themselves into.

My other favorite moment was in the Season 1 finale of Ugly Betty.  Justin was performing in West Side Story at school, and his father (Santos) ended up being an innocent bystander in an armed robbery simultaneously.  They kept flashing back and forth between the "Somewhere" portion in West Side Story and Santos getting shot and dying.  I was sobbing by the end of that episode.  Luckily FI and I still had our own places at that point, so he didn't get a chance to make fun of me for crying like a baby.

So what are yours?

Pam and Jim's first reaal kiss!

    *sigh*

  • I have a feeling this is really going to date everyone on the board :)  Whether you're all ZOMG Gossip Girl vs Luke & Laura's wedding on GH.

Ross & Rachel's first real kiss on Friends was great.

The last 5 mintues of the season finale of Season 4 of Dexter were pretty mind blowing.

The series finale of Rosanne where she revealed it was all a story she wrote.

And there was the dad dressed up as a older DJ who was in therapy and kept repeating "They say she's the same, but she's not the same." referring to how the actress for Becky kept changing.

Another Friends one:  when Ross picks up his sweater and says "I was looking for that!" and we find out that he is Rachel's baby daddy!

And I love when Rachel tells Ross he's the father and they have the "condoms only work 70-something% of the time" talk and then Ross tells Joey...it's all hilarious.  "Well, they should put that on the box!"  "They do"  "Well they should put it in big letters!"

  • Thanks, TR.  Man, that whole series was just AWESOME.  I was so sad when it ended.  I remember racing home every Thursday to find out who was pregnant, and who the father was, and then telling the father.  It was so compelling every week to find out something new.

Ooooh yeah that was a good one!  And the one where the intern gets hit by a train, but they don't know it's him until they page him and the pager by the body goes off.  Grey's Anatomy TOTALLY ripped off that whole storyline.  Man, that was a great show until it got bad.  Mark getting beat up in the bathroom?  Chilling.

ETA:  ER was a great show until it got bad, not Grey's.  And I'm talking about Mark Greene, not Mark Sloan.  Grey's is good and hasn't gone totally downhill yet, although it has had its valleys.

That is my all-time favorite as well.
  • My roommate from college and I always used to quote the second beach episode about "the letter".

It was five o'clock in the morning and you had rambled on for EIGHTEEN PAGES!  FRONT AND BACK!

And just so you know, it doesn't happen to every guy, and it IS a big deal!
    I KNEW IT!

Also regarding "30 Rock", I loved the other day when Liz said "Wanna see me shot gun this?" and she picks up the pizza.  I was laughing for 15 minutes.  It STILL cracks meup!

I also love the Friends episode "The one where no one's ready".  And Chandler steals the cushions, and Joey steals his clothes.  Better not do any lunges.

Doug & Carol getting back together when Julianna Margulies left the show was good.  NBC did a really good job of keeping George Clooney's return quiet.

I loved the series finale when Rachel came back all-grown up having turned her life around.  You could tell that her dad's death really had a profound impact on her.  I bawled when she re-introduced herself to Frank.
