I hate carrying on.

Really, how are you supposed to fit shiit into a tiny ziploc baggie?  I miss the old days of freedom of fluids in carry ons.
What is everyone up to tonight?

Re: I hate carrying on.

  • I feel your pain. I hate paying the checked baggage fees but also hate all the rules about carry-on's. Its like you gotta choose the lesser of two evils.

Just chilling. Doing a little bit of knotting and nesting. H just got called into work so God only knows what time he will be back.
  • We're actually flying Southwest, so I don't have to pay to check.  I just don't need the room since we're onty gone Friday-Sunday.  I can fit everything in my carryon, the bottles are just too big.  I know I dont NEED everything, but I like my products!

  • Yup, a girl has gotta have her stuff. It is hard to do without certain things. I wish we could fly Southwest, I have heard they are great. But from where we live in Augusta GA, you only get Delta or US Air.
  • I've never flown Southwest before - they fly out of Midway up here, and i'm much closer to O'Hare.  We're heading to Nashville this weekend for a bachelorette party, so I just went along with what everyone else booked.

  • Have fun at the b-party!

Good luck packing. I abhor current airline regulations. Last time I flew I had both my pencil and ballpoint pen confiscated (apparently I might have tried to hi-jack the plane with them.)

  • The funny thing is, every time I have flown I have put a disposable razor in my carry on.  I figure, if they take it, oh well.  Not once has it even been noticed.  I'm assuming you're not supposed to bring one, but  it always makes it though.  Yet my Moroccan Oil hair cream is too big?  What am I going to do?  Tame the flight attendants frizz?

  • Defintely have fun at the bachelorette party!

  • Dude Southwest is the best!  Have fun!

  • that's what I heard!  i'm guessing the flight is only an hour or hour and a half.  SW did send me 4 drink tickets - mimosas here I come!

  • One thing that might help a little - anything that is "medical" (cough syrup, prescription drugs, contact solution, eye drops, etc) does not apply to the 3 oz limit.  You can bring any reasonable amount of it, you just have to declare it when you go through security.

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/index.shtm    Scroll about 1/2 way down and you'll see a bulleted list.  Don't know if you're taking any of that stuff or not, but if you are you can save a little room in the baggies for other things instead.

I feel your pain MissySue.  I'm near Philadelphia and my family is in Cincinnati.  That means US Air and Delta for flights.  FI and I have decided to start making the drive to Newark so we can fly Continental.

  • Ah, it's nice being only kind of a girl. Very rarely do I fly with any liquids at all.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?

    FOR SALE!!.

  • The best thing about SW is the baggage policy.

I always do carry-on only if I can help it.  I hate waiting for baggage after flying.  I have way too many things in travel size so I can fit everything in a sandwich bag.  Sigh.
