Reading question

Our priest gave us a book and said pick one reading from the old testament and one from the new - but I am not liking anything in the book for the old testament. Do we have to stick with the readings in this book or can we pick any reading as long as its from the old testament?

You really need to ask your priest.  Some are more lenient and will let you pic an alternate OT reading and others make you stick to those in the book.
