NWR: Aruba

Did you guys already talk about this?

Did anyone watch the interview on GMA w/ that dude in Aruba suspected of killing his "travel companion"

I am watching it right now on Tivo, and that foo is looking smug, defensive and GUILTY as F*ck to me.

Re: NWR: Aruba

  • I haven't heard of this but I am going to be a bitter bitch and assume he will get off since he's got Jose Baez in his corner. I hate that guy.
  • Yep, Jose Baez is another b@stard, in my opinion.  Now thanks to a dead toddler he can count on his career to soar.

I read some of the quotes from the interview earlier in the day, and I was thinking "well... that actually DOES make sense."  But now that I'm actually WATCHING him, he comes off as incredibly arrogant, being pretty rude to Robin Roberts (I LOVE her).  Ugh, he is just gross and murderer.  This is my opinion.
  • I am still watching but it disturbs me that they are smiling and being cocky assholes. They didn't HAVE to take this interview. Gosh, I am pretty sure I already hate this guy.
  • Yeah Shannyn, that is how I feel too.  What really makes me puke is how he keeps cutting off Robin, being all condescending and going "Okay......" like correcting her and stuff.  Ugh.
  • Here's the thing - he's completely awful and smug, but awful and smug doesn't = guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  I'm an attorney, and I could NEVER do what Jose Baez does, but it's technically not his "fault" these people (i.e. Casey Anthony) go free - it's because the police/prosecutors don't have enough evidence and he's exceptionally good at pointing that out to a jury.  That said, if I had clients like his, I'm not sure I'd work all that hard to help them, which is why I can't be a defense attorney - it's a violation of our code of ethics to not do everything we can to "vigorously defend" our clients once we accept their cases.  Of course, the code of ethics doesn't require him to be a flaming d-bag to television reporters, but I suspect he'd be a flaming d-bag no matter what profession he was in.
