About the losers who play WoW:  I don't get the attitude.  Even if it were true, what's wrong with that?  It reminds me of something a friend said - that she wants to pull her son out of the Pokemon/Magic group because she doesn't want him to grow up like (what she characterizes as) the losers & outcasts that meet and play D&D, WoW, etc at the gaming store.  I feel the exact opposite:  those are my son's people!  He's probably not going to be a jock, or the popular kid, or the BMOC.  He's a whip-smart, rope-thin, kind of socially awkward geek. 

I love the fact that these geeks come together and make their own community.  It was the same when I went to high school:  you band together.  They seem so happy there.  It's a lively, smart, funny group of teens/young adults.  WTF is wrong with people?

I'm just catching up now and the adults playing video games one makes me stabby. I play them all the time. I clearly do not suffer from social anxiety or awkwardness. Nor do I live in a cave and only emerge to huddle around with other players. Ignorant.

I'm also amazed at the amount of affairs...but it does give a glimpse into why marriages dont' often last. If you are already cheating when you start the affair then just...wow...
I also wonder about the "other man" in the affair. How is he ok with the person he has a relationship with getting married to some other dude?

Eh, I have the opposite experience with gaming. My ex was a hardcore D&D, WoW, EQ, etc. He spent 16 hours a day on the computer, got D's in most of his college classes because he couldn't find time to go to class in between raids, and eventually quit his internship and lost his future job working at the CIA because he couldn't work and "devote enough time to WoW".

I was very glad when I met the ladies (and their husbands) who play and post on this site to remind me that he was not normal.
