Re: Anybody home?

  • I asked for a cookbook for couples but fmil couldn't find it.
  • Me too Fishy.  I tried to play you once but you IGNORED ME!!!

  • Aw CCF, poor BF. :(

  • *starts game with Loopy*

Bree what is your username? You don't show up as a FB friend that has it.

  • Fishy beats everybody at everything. That's why we don't play pictionary anymore.
  • Also, wwf on my new iPad2 makes it even BETTER.

  • SO. J's cousin is over right now hanging with him and another friend. I overheard him tell J that he is coming back in town (apparently has to go back to Chicago for work for the week) ON the day of our wedding. He's a GM. So like, he thought it was ok to just show up a couple hours before the wedding... Oh dear lord I am not looking forward to explaining this to him.
    image
  • Done... and DONE!
  • Oh good grief MuSu... I take it he's never been in a wedding before?
  • Has he ever been in a wedding Musu?  If not, I can kinda see why he would think that, but yeah I wouldn't be looking forward to that conversation either.  Unless your ceremony is really complicated he can probably just get any important information from another GM if he absolutely can't be there for the rehearsal.

<div>My first wedding, two groomsmen sort of disappeared.  They didn't have cell phones (I"M OLD OKAY) and we had no idea if they have even flown into the state.</div><div>
</div><div>They just rolled into the rehearsal like nothing was wrong.  I had never been so relieved in my life.</div>

I don't think so. And it is not like we haven't sent him timelines of the day and the details for the RD. *slaps forehead* He's also the one that didn't remember that he had to pay for the tux rental and waited til the night before the tux measurements were due to send them in. So he's awfully reliable <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif" border="0" alt="Undecided" title="Undecided" />. I feel like I'm gonna come off as the bad guy to tell him he probably should come into town on Thursday afternoon instead. Ugh.

  • Hi all! I wish I still had an iPhone just for words with friends. I help my gay boyfriend play all the time, because he says my English major makes it easier for me to come up with good words.

Sounds like lots of people got good gifts this year! I can't decide if my favorite gift is the Wii we got from FI's folks because he doesn't use it anymore or the entire series of The West Wing. I'm getting my gift from FI tomorrow, because he says it has to go with dinner and he wasn't feeling up to cooking tonight. I bet it's either wine or dessert, but he insists it is not.

strlz- If he absolutely can't make the rehearsal its not gonna kill me or anything, but I am kind of not sure why he thought just showing up at 5pm (on a 7pm ceremony time) would be cool.

ETA: 5pm on the wedding day

  • Yeah he definitely doesn't seem to be the most responsible person (no offense).
  • Yeah he is kind of clueless most of the time. What would a wedding be without some idiotic assumptions though? ;)

  • Kate - I LOVE West Wing.  LOVE it!

<div>Are you doing pictures beforehand? This is a tight, tight timeframe no matter what, but with pictures before it might be almost impossible. If you're worried about "being the bad guy," could your FI talk to him? Unless he's a GM standing up on your side.</div>

  • I love WwF. Every night I play. I'm getting really good at, so I'm excited to play. I sucked at Scrabble growing up; so I guess a college education is good for something.

Yeah, the timeline we sent him had him getting to the hotel to get ready by NOON, haha. We are starting pictures at 3. I'm hoping J will talk to him about it.

  • Ok folks, I'm signing off for the night.  I need to go upstairs and get my bags packed and go to sleep if I want to be up and out of here by 8 AM.  Night everyone!

<div>Me, too! My dad had the entire series on DVD and I used to watch it all the time when I lived at home. I've been missing it since I moved out. The episode with Toby and the homeless man never fails to get me in the Christmas mood. :)</div>

OH. Haha. One of my girlfriends in college started calling this particular friend "Kate's gay boyfriend" and it just kind of stuck. I didn't even think about it. I can see how that would make it seem like I had an intensely dramatic personal life. Alas, this is not the case.<div>
</div><div>ETA: "in college" was probably only needed once.</div>

  • Good night Stlrz.  I'm heading for bed soon too.  Up for work at 5:30 AM.
  • There are loud thumping noises coming from the other room. I'm a little scared to see what the guys are all doing out there. I just hope nothing is breaking, lol.
    image
  • Yeah they are funny most of the time... I'm just hoping the end mess isn't too terrible. And that J doesn't get sick by the end of the night.
