Russo's On the Bay, Howard Beach.

Hey all!! I was wondering if anyone has ever attended an event at Russo's on the Bay? I was wondering if anyone can give me some pros and cons about the place, and the price per plate for a Nov 2013 Saturday night wedding. I am planning around 200 guests! I would greatly appreciate any info anyone can give me! thank you.

  • You're probably going to be looking at about $150+ for a Saturday Night wedding there; the food is AMAZING, the service is fantastic, and they really go above and beyond to make you happy.

    Cons:
    - minimal outdoor picture space
    - three events at the same time
    - decor is a bit on the "traditional" side w/the granite/marble floors & ornate chandeliers, etc.

  • I have been to several events there!

Pros: Food is amazing and plentiful

Cons: Not really a great view for pictures, very "wedding hallish" (if that makes any sense)

Also! You can make your entrance into the reception on a pedestal with smoke, lights, etc. Not sure if that's your style, but I thought it was pretty cool.

  • I'm getting married at the Riviera in Brooklyn. I was there for my friends wedding and it was AMAZING!! They do one wedding at a time and they have a beautiful garden with a  waterfall in the back. We will be getting married in the garden area. It's also a block from Coney Island. If you want the whole viennese hour it will run you about 145 p/p without I believe is 135p/p. They give your guest 12 choices for dinner and they are allowed 2nd's and 3rds!

My sister had her Sweet 16 party there and we looked into it for our wedding but ultimately decided on elsewhere.  The price they quoted us wasn't outrageous and the food is excellent, however, it felt like too much of a wedding hall for us.

They are very good at what they do because they have so much pracitce perfecting it, however, the space is not very personal feeling and they have multiple events at once.
