Are you still alive?

It appears that you're all in bed rather early tonight- although it did just occur to me what day it is over there, and I suppose I can forgive you.

  • I'm up but fading. How was your new year Sun?

  • I am still up Sun! We've had a horrible day (stomache viruses all around) and BF seems to have hit the worst of it right now. I know this shouldn't be funny, but I am really trying not to laugh at him screaming obscenities from the bathroom.

  • Ha! I slept until almost noon today. BUT we are going to this cute Danish town (in California...) tomorrow and want to be on the road by 9. So I'm going to go read for a while. Good night! (Er, g'day to you, Miss Sun.)

  • I'm about to go to bed. I have a hair appointment at 930am and the inlaws are here, so it's been a low key day.

  • I'm here, but going to bed soon. It's almost 1am. I fell asleep while watching the new Harry Potter before and woke up for the end of it. Now I'm just trying to gather up enough energy to make it from the couch to the bedroom, lol.

  • Hey Sucrets, do you feel pregnant yet? Last I knew you still just felt bloated.

  • Wow, there's more of you than I expected!

Night, my new year's eve was two night's ago now, but good! We had an impromptu dinner party with my siblings which was nice... and the first day of the new year (yesterday) was great, too- we went for korean with some of our friends for dinner, which was oh-so-good. Yum! H is currently making us a bbq roast, so that should be nice, too. How was yours?

amalama, that sounds horrible! Are you sure it wasn't something you ate?

Merymac, pseudo danish town sounds like fun! And it's late afternoon here, so good afternoon to you too! ;P

Mandy, anything exciting planned with the hair? I am thinking about getting mine all chopped off (again! I keep toying with this idea) on monday.

  • Oh and heya miss Sucrets!
  • night - not really. I've been feeling the baby move more, but it still feels like tickles at this point and I just look fat. It's annoying, but my friends that know I'm pg say that they can see it.

We find out the gender on TUESDAY!

  • That is so very exciting, sucrets! Any hunches on what the little one might be?
  • Sun-We both have been sick and my daughter (who is at my parents house, so hasn't ate the same things as us since Thursday morning) is sick too. BF made me go to the ER when I was really bad (he said I was saying weird things and shaking uncontrollably) and they said it was going around. I have been on nauseau medicine since then so I am doing okay now, but he can't keep anything down to take medicine and doesn't want to go in for an IV unless he has to.

  • PS: I am so sure that you really don't look 'fat' in the slightest!

I'm thinking boy, but I can't tell you why. It seems to be about a 60/40 split amongst our family and friends (boy/girl).

I assure you, I look huge. My boobs, which were large to begin with, are MASSIVE now. I hate it soooo much. They seriously didn't need to get bigger, they would have been fine! And that just makes me look more top heavy.

  • Sucrets when someone at work found out I was pregnant (when I was about 3-4 months I think), they said "Oh, I thought you were just getting a beer belly or something."

I did not appreciate that. But, when I really started showing and people would randomly ask me if I was pregnant, it was fun to say no and then look all sad like they called me fat. I would never ask a woman that unless I was 100% sure!

I believe that the gender is influenced by the male's genetic contribution, and men can be more likely to produce one sex or another depending on their genetic makeup (or something like that! I had decided that if we were to have a child, there was a 99.9% chance of boys, haha).

Any name ideas as yet?

  • ama - I know!!! I get freaked out mentioning if someone cut their hair sometimes...what if they did it awhile ago and I just didn't notice?? So I usually don't say anything at all, lol.

Yeah, I just look thick around the middle now. As much as I had before, it's nowhere near what's going on now. Damn organs moving out of the way for the baby, lol.

I remember once when we were at someone's house (I think buying something from them? I can't recall now) and the wife asked my mother if she was pregnant. She wasn't, and she was super-humiliated by the question.

  • Bryan has 1 sister. His mom has all sisters and his dad has all brothers, lol.

Girl, you are going to be the cutest little thing when you're pg! I'm sure you'll get an adorable baby bump and still be a skinny minnie.

Nothing on names. I think we're giving up until we know the gender. Why spend so much time on something that we might not use? He's still 100% for Ainsley, though, and I'm still pushing Quinn.

  • My new years was FI's family. We had a Christmas that had been delayed because of 20 inches of snow.

Sucrets, I'm sure that you look pregnant instead of fat. I'm sure of it. I'm psychic like that.

Thanks for the psychic thoughts! I certainly hope I do, but I'm not even halfway there yet, so I have plenty of time to grow.

  • Well in that case Night, how was your belated Christmas?

My MOH gave me a gift last night- we exchanged gifts on boxing day, but she got me the same book that I'd already been given two copies of, lol, so she went out and got me another present- a very cute dress which unfortunately is too big! Nonetheless, it was still exciting opening christmas presents last night- I love dragging it out!

  • Sun I always told them pretty quickly. This was also usually people at work. And one random person at the mall who came up and rubbed my stomach and asked me. That when I just said no and walked away. Why does everyone think it's okay to touch pregnant people? I don't like strangers (or even friends) rubbing my belly!

Sucrets-Names was a pain for us. We ended up picking 5 and deciding after she was born which one we though fit best. One of my sisters was supposed to be named Sara Elizabeth. It had been picked out for months, they had bought some monagrammed stuff and everything. And when she was born they thought it just didn't fit. Supposedly my grandmother was not too happy when she found out, since she had been calling everyone telling them that Sara had been born and thought it made her look stupid.

  • Oh, I just realised that in three posts I will be getting a gold medal. Yay for gold medals! Actually, I'm not sure if I should be happy about this or not, given that this can only mean that I've spent far too much time online.
  • The random stranger rubbing your belly: I just can't imagine what makes people think this is ok! The same with touching random babies.
  • Oh wow, ama, that stinks about your gma! I'm pretty sure that once we decide on a name that it will stick. I have a hard time changing my mind once I'm settled on something, so I hope that won't happen!

I'm not excited for people to start rubbing my belly. I hope they don't. Thank god I don't really know a lot of people down here...maybe that will help?
