I suppose I will eventually grow some balls or be prepared to have two new BFFs.

  • I was visiting my mom when my oldest was a little over 2 and in the middle of potty training.  I was downstairs doing laundry when I heard the knock at the door.  I went upstairs and saw my son, buck naked, answering the door.  He was at that phase and I was horrified.  I got to the door and the two little old ladies had these dumbfounded look on their face.  They handed me the literature, mumbled a few words and then walked away as fast as they could.  Instead of getting mad at him I realized I found the best way to stop the missionaries.  They didn't come back at all during my trip there, and my mom says no one has stopped by since.

  • I have a funny story about JW too.  One day my friend and I were sunbathing in our swim suits on her lawn.  We live in the country in the mountains so her drive way was a long uphill walk.  These two boys in full suits on a 95+ day come sweating up the hill only to be confronted with our scantily clad bodies.  They stammered out the question if our parents were home and we blithely answered no.  They turned tail and practically ran down the hill.

If you just ask them nicely to stop they will.  We lived on a street full of Mormons (literally every house belonged in a Mormons family) and they never bother us.
