  • We're not doing one.  There will only be a couple of single ladies and no single guys so I don't really want to put them in the spot light.  Well there might be one single guy, my cousin, but he's gay and he would not be amused to be the only guy there waiting for the garter toss.  That would go over like a lead balloon.
  • Brit...I dont have very many single friends....if I look at the list and it looks too small, I like the idea of presenting the toss bouquet to someone...either my bm who is getting married a few weeks after me or maybe my grandma who was married for 62 years...

  • HATE the bouquet toss.  I'm not doing one, and I won't participate in one.  Even when I was single, I'd hang out in the bathroom till it was over...and the one time I was called out by name, I flipped off the DJ and went outside to wait in the parking lot.  I was "best man" at a committment ceremony this summer and the "bride" insisted on throwing a bouquet.  I didn't go up.  He pointed out that I wasn't technically married.  I pointed out that according to the state of Colorado, FI and I are technically common-law (since we've lived together as a couple for more than 6 months).

If the bouquet toss is done, I don't think engaged women should be included in the "single women" category.

  • oh wow! Lisa, that sucks. I would be so pissed. I've actually never gone up for one...I would be mortified if I was called out. Not so much because of being single but I HATE being in the spotlight.
