  • Barbie I'm telling ya you will have a blast. I went in the afternoon, had nothing to drink, and am extremely self conscious when it comes to things like that. I'm the girl that puts on lingerie and like hides under the covers lol. You will be great!

  • I'm at work. The guests are all walking around St John as we are sitting out in the bay with lightning all around us. We have a fairly large lightning rod, so it's kind of scary. At least it will be a quick ride home as we race back if there is lightning around.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • I DIY'd my b-pics! They turned out pretty good :)
  • Cut lists came out for t.v. shows. Did yours get cancelled?
  • So my DIY card box holder has been a big fail so far. Grrrr.

Someone tell me they ended up not caring about that kind of stuff by the time the big day came.
  • Evening ladies.

I just found out that my first horse died.  He was 27 years old which is pretty old for a horse but it's still sad to know that he's gone.

A couple of my shows got cancelled... One that I'm bummed about is Better With You.

  • Don't care! H stained a box and cut a slot for items. MOH decided to glue on sand dollars at the lost moment. It went over fine (I think).

  • Well I made one for my mom's retirement party as a test run. I probably shouldn't have chosen the 99 cent wrapping paper, but that's all they had in the color I wanted. :-/

  • So sorry Barrel
  • I"m sorry Barrel :(
  • Another question:

True or false: Monogramed gifts are stupid.
  • I am sorry barrel :(

If your card box turns out ugly, I swear it's God's own truth that a. no one will even notice and b. you probably won't remember it anyway.

And I am using a hat/paper box I got from michaels that looks like a book that I scored for 5 bucks as our card box :)

Ok thanks this is what I need to know! It'll be dark anyways. I shouldn't spend any more money on this crap.

I like monogrammed jewelry. I also have a monogrammed silver hand mirror that I think it really cool. I don't much care for monogrammed clothing/bags/crap like that though.

  • Welp I came across this site that had a bunch of things to get your WP. One were cute monogramed coozies and another was a monogramed insulated lunch tote.

The second thing I was all "OMG!!" at first until I thought about what my BMs do for a living and how they might not have the need for an insulated tote.
  • My grandma gives me monogrammed gifts all the time.  I like them but my mom hates them.  I guess it's best just to know who the gift is going to.
  • Hah ok I just showed them to FI and he said "ehhhhh they're way too.... cunty"

So I guess that settles that! :)

Well that made me chuckle. Kind of a lot. (and I agree, they're cunty. I just wanted to  say cunty. whatever.)

  • I definitely wouldn't mind a monogrammed kozy!  We have tons and love them.  H actually got all his GMs one that said groomsman or Best Man for when he asked them to be in the WP.

The lunch tote though would go in the back of my closet, or sadly in the garbage.

  • Yeah I carry a 9 can cooler that I got from Target as my lunch box, so at first I thought they were cute.

I think I might have to go the individual gift route since my BMs have a wide range of likes and hobbies...
  • Birdie - I'm with you on the bridesmaid gift dilemma.  I'm seriously struggling with figuring them out.
  • I'm also struggling with what to get my aunt for hosting my shower.  I know I should "shop like its her birthday" but I don't normally give gifts to my aunt....so, who knows.
  • Holy crap don't even get me started on my mom. In the span of two months I've had mother's day, her retirement and her birthday. I have a hard enough time getting her something for Christmas and that's once a year! :(
