Oh and yikes, Habs, that sounds scary :( The snow isn't that bad here today, but since it's here, I'm still a little annoyed. Sounds like what happened to me back in Feb, it is so frightening when you are spinning around like that! Glad you're ok.

ETA: HABS not Rosie, gosh I'm tired.

• I think the chick that was the newspaper writer in that one harry potter movie* would be a good elfie.

BUT I am a sucky reader so I probably don't have her character down as much as others do.

• I can't get "celebrate good times, COME ON!" out of my head. What am I celebrating exactly? Wednesday? Um, 4:20? My giant boobs? WHAT'S HAPPENING?
• Whoa, Habs. I love the snow, but it's stories like that that make me happy we don't get too much of it.

• Oh. FUNNY story.

Yesterday, my boss (a Catholic priest) took a whole bunch of us out to lunch at this little Irish pub near where we work. There was a big screen TV right behind our table, which usually plays whatever football or baseball game is on, but yesterday, it was showing some soap opera (I don't know which one). Right as we sat down, it went into a particularly steamy sex scene. I didn't know what to do. The woman across the table from me (a volunteer) was giggling like crazy, until the management realized what was going on and hurriedly turned off the TV. So AWKWARD.

heh ok nerdzilla.

JK I need to re-read the HP books and re-watch the movies. I still haven't seen DH part 1. I am a bad HP fan.

• Haha, Bay that would be awkward, especially given your job area, heh.

People keep STOMPING into the classroom today, haha I think everyone is a LITTLE cranky about the weather.
It's Wednesday, but thanks to Good Friday, it's Thursday. I slept so freakin hard last night, it was awesome. It's supposed to get close to 90 today, I just wish I could go lay out instead of sitting in this darned office.

• Morning! Rosie, I'm so sorry. My BFF got hit by a car almost 2 years ago and sent to the ICU and all sorts of fun stuff, and the only remotely good thing about it is that the kid who hit her seemed to really realize what he'd done and will hopefully never drive recklessly again (he ran a red light).

Habs, that's scary - I'm glad you're ok!

I'm here. Better mood than yesterday, but I'm still not exactly a ray of sunshine. H leaves for Buenos Aires for a week on Monday (handball) and reminded me last night that he has a handball tournament in another city this weekend. I so do not feel like going to the beach with all 10 trillion other Chileans for the long weekend (and it's cold here), nor do I feel like sitting around waiting for handball games to be over, but my other choice is to not see him for 2 extra days. I'm just feeling kind of sorry for myself lately, I need to stop.
• You wear that nerd hat Matilda! ROCK IT! Cause you're in good company.

I came up with a happy story! I've started leaving my house about ten minutes earlier than normal, which for some reason translates to getting to work 40 minutes faster. I'm not going to question the magic of the traffic gods, I'm just going to say Thanks.
• Emily - You can have a pity party. It's okay.

Hey, if your H plays in the Pan Ams in 2015 (I think ahead) in Toronto, you should totally come with and visit!

• Haha, Habs - I am HOPING against hope that after this he'll retire (at least that's what I've been promised), but meeting you in Toronto would be a lone bright spot if I end up with 4 more years of handball!
• 2015 SOUNDS so far away! But really, it's only 4 years. 2015 sounds like we're finally getting into Star Trek and sci fi time. Weird.

• Morning Ladies..

I have to work the Aquatic Center today. Not really thrilled about it, but I will deal with it.

I really need to finish up my health card process.. This is my 13th year in a row and it's still a PITA. I have until 5/5 to get it done. First you have to drop of a poo sample.

After the results come back you have to then go and get the card. You have to first get a number, once you are called you go to window 1 to give your information.

Then you go to the cashier (around the corner).

then you stand in line to get your temp and BP taken.

Then you get your picture taken and you get the card. Process takes about an hour.

The kicker is that are only open M-F from 1pm until 3pm (taking the last person at 2:30). On top of that they are closed Friday for Good Friday and Monday for Easter Monday. Then the following week is Carnival. Which means next week will be super busy because everyone who has a booth has to have a health card.

Then the week of carnival they are closed because, it's Carnival and no one works for about a week. They actually get paid time off to party for 4 days.

Sorry to vent. I was going to spend $12 to go over to St John on Friday to get it done (a little quicker over there) until I remembered Friday is Good Friday. Yell I would have tried to start the process earlier but my work schedule has not worked out.

• Wikipedia says 2062. They said that it never mentioned an exact year, but it was aired in 1962 and said '100 years in the future'.

• I'm soooooo tired today. Wasn't that a load of crap LVB? I mean I get that it was bad everywhere else, but I feel like they really over reacting. At least looking back it seems that way.

I looked at the radar line this morning and it was sooo scary looking and then when it went over Louisville it kind of separated and pittered out. My neighbor told me she had a fence down in her yard, but we didn't even have tree limbs down in my neighborhood. I oddly feel like we missed out on the party.
• Good morning everyone! Rosie, I'm sorry about all that is happening with that guy who hit your mom's friend. Hopefully some kind of justice will be served eventually.

I imagined Effie to be older and kind of washed up. I think Elizabeth Banks is probably to hot for this part. I think Rita Skeeter would have been a good choice.
• Morning, all. Rosie, I'm sorry about your friend, and sending conviction vibes to the asshat who did it. Habs, be careful out there! That's too scary.

Okay, good news. I picked up a new tutoring client last week. Her mother emailed me this morning to tell me that she got a 79 on her last test (taken 2 days after our first tutoring session). Just a bit of improvement over her previous 50 and 32.

I know! I'm just upset I missed 2 hours of sleep for nothing! At least everyone was safe though.
Rosie- I'm a little outdated on my criminal justice, but if he pleads the whole insanity thing, and they find him Not Guilty by reason of Insanity, he'll be spending his life in a mental hospital, right? I'm sure the laws vary on that in different areas, I just know that pleading insanity is really not a great way to get off on criminal charges. I haven't been in the field since I graduated, so you lawyer people will probably have a better explanation.
Posted by SarahR11
Oh he isn't pleading insanity. That was someone else who shared a story. I believe it was that poster's ex' best friend who was going to plead insanity.

Yeah, I'd have a hard time figuring out how he could explain "insanity" for a vehicular homicide. So I'm glad that isn't what he really is pleading.

• GOOD MORNING!!

::hugs Rosie and Stacks::

Habs - you be careful out there, kiddo.

I took a spin class last night! It was fun! I'm not sore today though (however, I'm in pain for other reasons, so maybe it's cancelling the spin class pain out?) so I think I did it wrong. I'm not very coordinated and the whole standing/hovering/sitting combinations were super hard for me. I think I might go back though. I liked it =)

I'm extreeeeemely tired today. Rosie, can you send your power outage down here so I can go home early, please? Thanks.
• Soo, I'm a little weirded out now. I have a little plant in a bowl of water on my desk, and my coworker (who I really dislike) put fertilizer in it. It turned the water all funky. My plant is tucked in a corner of my desk, so I kind of feel like my space has been violated.

DON'T TOUCH MY PLANT, B!TCH.
