Do you like bouquet tosses?

I haven't read through the thread yet but I figured I'd respond.  I didn't want to have a bouquet toss or a garter toss.  I was vetoed by the bridal party.  My girlfriends and bridesmaids really wanted a bouquet toss.  Since they really wanted it and I didn't care we decided to do it.  I'm glad we did actually in the end as it was fun and people were up laughing and dancing.  I liked it. 

As for the garter toss I don;t like them when the groom gets all up there and removes the garter with his teeth or something overly sexual.  H and I had fun with it and we have some hilarious pictures from it.  He flung the garter but we did not do the tradition of making the girl who caught the bouquet have the garter put on by the guy who caught it.  I find that part icky (personally) and can put people in positions they don't want to be in.  I've had to be that girl that caught the bouquet then have to have some skeezy guy put it on me in a sexual manner.  No thanks.

We did both and we are in our thirties.  We have a bunch of nieces, nephews and cousins that wanted to catch them, but if it were all adults we probably wouldn't have done it.  My MOH caught the bouquet and my nephew who caught the garter put it on her arm.  It was cute and not as salacious as one might think.

I guess I see it a bit different from others as I don't think of it as putting the single ladies on display, but all the ladies/girls joining in for some fun.

I don't realy care either way but even when i attanded a wedding when I was in my early engagement I was told I had to go up there because it doesn't count until im married. But i caught the bouquett so I take it as good luck.

I actually think its entertaining!! I will definietly have a bouquet toss at my wedding. One question that I do have is: Are engaged women expected to participate in the bouquet toss?
