I just woke up to make my husband breakfast and lunch before he goes for work (if I dont, he "forgets" and then doesnt eat anything but coffee all day). Im contemplating going back to bed

Good morning. I'm not at work. I'm drinking my coffee while Ben watches cartoons and eats his breakfast. Trying to decide what we are going to do today.  I'm considering taking him to see Avatar. He's dying to see it (thanks a lot  McDonald's happy meal!) but I'm worried it would be a bit much for him.

Good Morning.  I'm at work.  I'm usually off on  Monday's but because of getting New Year's day off this week I had to come in.  BLAH.  Monday's are the worst and nobody is here yet. 

I feel really lame that my body is sore from playing Wii all weekend.

We're debating seeing Avatar, too.

When we saw the previews, we definitely thought it would be a flop. Much like waterworld. It would cost a billion dollars to make and not nearly make the money back.

Then, when they started the gratuitous advertising, we thought FOR SURE they thought it would be a flop because they were trying to trick people into going.

Most people that I know that have seen it, however, really liked it. So now our curiousity is piqued.

I think we over think things.

I actually dont think avatar looks very good, but I generally have no interest in watching blue creature guys jump around on things and fight other creatures on some distant planet. I dont care how good the animation or graphics are, I just dont find that kinda thing interesting.

Ive decided were going to see nine instead. My husband is ever so excited about that haha.

I will let you guys know what I think. I cheated on you ladies and went to the IMDB - Avatar message boards and asked if they thought it would be too much for him. All of the responses were really positive and eased my fears. I'll most likely take him this afternoon.

We saw Invictus on Christmas Eve and I think I'm probably the only person in the world that wasn't blown away.

I got the doorcrasher prize at old navy on boxing day - 4 free movie passes. We have decided to see sherlock holmes (for him) and nine (for me). Im like some kid with ADD or something, I cant sit in movies for longer than 2 hours and change because I get fidgety and bored, and I cant watch most action movies because I get fidgety and anxious. I really want to see the young victoria but its not playing here, which is stupid because I live in canada which is a frigging commonwealth of england (i think thats the word I want).

TCM had a marathon of the 1950s Universal Studios' Sherlock Holmes films on the other day.  Yes, I spent all day watching them.  I love Sherlock Holmes.

Saw Sherlock Holmes on Saturday night. It was pretty good. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't been exhausted. But you know, a couple hours of Jude Law is never really a bad thing.

My friend noted on FB that Avatar was the greatest science fiction film he's ever seen. I asked him if the fairies won this one like they did in Fern Gully. He was not impressed. Bygones!

Good morning everyone!  I'm back to work too, so I'll be here all day putting off any actual work. 

Since you're talking about movies - we saw Sherlock Holmes on Friday and my H and I both loved it!  It was really great and fun and suspenseful.  My H has read all of the books and short stories and he said it's really true to the original Holmes, which is great and he was happy with it.  Tomorrow we're going to see Avatar at the Imax.  The few people I know that have seen it said it's awesome, so we'll see.  I think the story line isn't too original but the effects and the 3D stuff should be awesome.

I just got here this morning, but yeah I'm noticing it's still doing the same stuff it was before I left town for the holiday.  It's changing the way it sorts posts all on its own.  I'll remind her that we're still having problems.  I would guess nothing has been done though because of Christmas.  I bet they're all back to work today just like we are.

That's really good news about the Holmes movie.  I was hoping it would be more true to the original stories.

My all time favorite interpretation of Sherlock Holmes, though, is "Without a Clue."  It's hilarious.

I'm here too.  Was very disappointed when the first click I made gave me an error message. Grrrrr....

I haven't seen Avatar yet, but 3 of my friends saw it and loved it--they also were able to see it in 3D.  The consensus is that if you are able to see it in 3D, do it, it's amazing.

Avatar was amazing! I've seen it twice now and I can't wait to see it again. The trailers don't do it justice. It's not just for sci-fi nerds. It definitely has a universal appeal. I hate to say it, but it really was "epic." I had no idea what it was about (FI dragged me to see it on opening night) but it turned out to be awesome.

I've heard Avatar is really good.  I have no desire to see it, but DH wants to b/c he's a sci-fi nerd, my bro and SIL for the same reason, and one of our friends was a film major in college and is interested in seeing how it was filmed and all the technical stuff.

My musical theater friends were disappointed in Nine because they changed it from the show so much, but hopefully it's still good despite that and they're just being overly harsh.

Error messages are the suck.

Totally random, but since I've been venturing out to other boards lately, I've seen a lot of posts where the bride refers to her BMs as "my girls" or "my ladies". I don't know why, but everytime I see a post like that, it makes me die a little inside.
