Work & Weddings

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but I'd like some outside input.

I very much enjoy my job and the people I work with and for.  My office is fairly small (9 people).  I want to invite everyone in the office, except one person.  He's really just not a pleasant person.  I feel like I can't really get by inviting everyone EXCEPT him.

What do you ladies think, is it okay to invite everyone but one person you really do not enjoy being around or is this just a very bad idea?

Um, for me I would think it could turn out bad...but then again if he's an unpleasant person I don't know if it would matter much.

  • What do you mean by unpleasant? Yes, I think it would be rude/mean to invite EVERYONE but him.

  • I would invite him in that situation.  I feel like the best course of action generally when there's one person in a group at work that is unpleasant is to kill them with kindness.
  • Since it's a small office I would just invite him. It will likely save you a lot of headaches. If he chooses not to go then you're golden. If he decides to attend you really don't need to spend any more time with him other then to say thanks for coming.

  • I agree - invite him. If he's so unpleasant and you two don't get along, maybe he won't come to the wedding anyway.
  • I'm typically in the bandwagon of invite only the co-workers you socialize with, but if this is absolutely the ONLY person that you would exclude, I would suck it up and invite him.  (Maybe you'll get lucky and he will be on vacation.)
  • i would invite him, if he comes you will be too busy to notice he is there!
Hopefully he will decide not to come.
