  • Oh man.  There's so much wrong with this whole thing.  I think I'm going to have to step away from the computer before it all comes flooding out.

  • And yeah, ditto PPs.  I'd focus on the tea party theme and not so much the Marie Antoinette part.

[QUOTE]That is the other thing I am struggling with, the bride mentioned wanting champagne jello.  Any one know what that is?  Is it like a champagne jello shot?

Champagne jello is just a flavor of jello, you can purchase it right next to all of the other jellos

-SHE'S 19!!!  OF COURSE SHE WANTS A PRETTY PRINCESS DAY!!
    - Marie Antoinette?!!?  Sounds like a bunch of little girls playing dress up!

Pretty princess pink ball gown is where I almost threw my keyboard on the ground.
It sounds more like a kiddie costume party than a freakin' bridal shower.

I know Amoro, it is ridiculous, but when you're 19 I guess you get "champagne" for your wedding any way you can.  It's actually pretty funny.
  • I was going to suggest some gambling (since Marie Antoinette was an out of control gambler), but I'm not sure that is appropriate for a shower :).

BUAHAHAHAHAHA I was thinking the same thing!!
  • Goodness.  I was thinking perhaps an intervention would be more appropriate than a shower, but I guess I'm a jaded old biddy.

OP:  It's kind of you to want to throw a shower, and I hope your cousin's marriage is a happy one.

    It could happen, people!

Listen, I get it my 18 year old sister is getting engaged, and while I don't agree with it or think it's the smartest decision I will still support her.  I've said what I have to say to her, so I get it.

Just focus on having a dessert party with lots of pretty roses and candles.  I'm not sure if a "tea" party is really something that will interest 18 and 19 year old girls.  Have a elegant romantic dessert party.  Maybe do it on an evening. You can do shades of pinks and reds and silver.  It doesn't have to look Barbie it can be done in a very elegant way.

Yeah.  They could be the 1% that makes it through! <-- Completely unsubstantiated comment.

Oh I don't remember you saying this is what she wants.  If this is what she wants than go for it!  19 or not she's still the bride, and all kidding aside I think it's very kind of you to support your cousin.
