Re: Really? (warning, baby names and clothed belly pics)

  • Ease Lee (I like it for girl)

And for Greyson I want it for our someday daughter but the last name would be Brady and I'm afraid that combo looks like a boys name
  • Another friend of mine was expecting her baby on Sept 1. She went into the Drs office on her due date, and he was like "Oh whoops, you have another week. We were wrong the whole time." Nice timing, huh? She was so upset, because she had been so ready for him to come then and there.

  • Ainsley has been my favorite girl name since I was maybe 15. I like Ainsley Kara, sort of after my mom, Karen. I'm not a fan of using the actual name, but rather using it for inspiration.

  • Julez -  I love Mae too. I'd use it as a first name, but that wouldn't sound right with a 1-syllable last name (IMO.)

  • With your last name, it would sound like permission: "you mae ___. please don't feed the bears."

Hmm, what about Ainsley Karin?  Karin was my great grandmother's name and I really like it (car-in).  However, I kinda liked Emmalyn because both of DH's grandmothers are named Evelyn and it's pretty close.

I always loved, Brady, Brody and Grady for a boy. T completely ruins that. I can't possibly name my son Brady Brady

[QUOTE]Oh, gosh brooke! That is one reason I kept my maiden name as a 2nd middle. Gretchen Mae ____. Yeah. It's a sentence. Thanks, DH! My mom jokes and says we should name our future daughter Summer. Sucrets' DH voted Concentration for a boy. I probably just gave away my last name. Eh.

In DH's defense, he came up with many other witty ideas!  That was just the most offensive.

  • I really like Ainsley Karin.  Sounds like an adorable girl.

I think we're going to use a family name for middle names.  One family name we won't be using is my grandma's -- Orel (pronounced like oral).  No kid these days needs that.

    Ohhh, exciting!
  • Not a bad idea, Sucrets. Someone once suggested Maren because MIL is Mary. It's not a bad mashup of the mom's names, I admit. But then I also like Meredith as a way to use the "Mar" in Mary.

GG, I like the suggestions, but have you considered Phat? It's very multicultural.

I should tell you that DH suggested naming our child the same first name as our last name.

I wish I had written down all the ridiculous crap that he has said during this naming process.  It's been quite amusing!

Hahaha.  I remember that he did, but that one stuck out the most. :) I will never hear the end of it with this new last name of mine!

  • I don't like any of our family names. At all. The only one we've considered its T's sister (the one I like) her last name is Foley so we've talked about using it as a middle name.
  • I think I like Quinn better than Ainsley, but DH likes A better.  I do like it.  And there is a girl in Primary School that's named that, but I don't teach her.  :)

Ha! That's a good one. My mom suggested Scout as well. She laughs so hard that she cries when she starts throwing out ideas.

  • Hahaha sucrets. T is very serious about baby names, he told me shortly after we started dating that he liked Abigail "Abby", Chloe and Sophia and that our son would be Hunter (it will be). No jokes whatsoever. Maybe that will change when it comes down to it though..

Family names that we plan on using for first and middle names are Wesley, Thomas, Taylor, Vera, and Mae.

One of my grandmother's names is Hilda...DH's grandmother's name is Mildred Alberta. Um, no. The other is Anne Elizabeth...eh. It's okay.

  • I love Ainsley! Good choice.

GG, I'm debating. If I have a daughter I might want her middle name to be Mae, and start a tradition of the women in my family having the same middle name (it goes with everything!). Or else I'll give her my first name, Meredith, as a middle name (as long as it goes with the first name we pick out). My kids will most likely have FI's last name, so it's only fair. (I knew a woman who used that excuse to give both her daughters her first name as a middle name - but they have YOUR last name!)

Those are all pretty good!  Did you not see that I have Orel to work with!

Family names we've talked about using: Lee, Eleni (love it), and Jay.  That's like all that's decent to work with.
  • My mom would be delighted if I used Mary or Helen or her favorite Mary Helen as theyre both grandma and great grandmothers names of both sides of my family. I don't like either name  though
  • I have imaginary future babies too, and I definitely want to use the middle name Mae. I have always loved it.  My top picks are:

    Evelyn Mae
    Jillian Mae

My husband gets no say in this.
  • DH's favorite girl name used to be Sarah, but I said hell no because I grew up with a girl named Sarah and she was a total bitch. No offense to the Sarahs out there, but I just can't do it!

Mery - My grandmother's middle name is Mae, and I was given that name because of her. I want to carry on the tradition as well. :)

    Brooke - Uh oh!
    image
  • Julez - My dad comes from a big family, so we have a lot more names to work with too. I predict we'll stick to family names becaues they mean so much to us. Eleni is cute!
    image
  • I've suggested naming a boy Mason Daniel to give him the initials MD (and DH's name is Daniel). But no baby of mine will be Doctor.

And with that, I must be put to bed. I hope you ladies have a wonderful evening

  • Night Brooke!

If you want a long name you could do Ainsley Kensington
  • My 2 middle initials are M.D. It looks really weird on my checks.

    Night Brooke!

  • There are more names GG but they're terrible.  My mom's middle name is a combination of my grandma's two favorite BOY students names and everyone else has very um, interesting (?) names that I just couldn't give a kid.  I really like Eleni too.  It's DH's g-ma's name.
