I confess that I'm REALLY nervous about physically walking down the aisle. I'm afraid I'll trip or be so nervous that I won't be able to smile or make any kind of emotion. I hate having people stare at me.
Posted by FutureMrsDudley55
Don't even worry about this. I lost about 5lbs the week before my wedding, after my alterations were done. It was just enough for my dress to sit a bit lower, thus making it too long. I tripped twice going down the aisle; everyone laughed, I laughed, even the priest laughed, and it totally broke the nervousness of it all. Don't sweat the small stuff, truly. :)
• Gah, Dani, you're not the only one :(
• Andrea, he's crate trained perfectly--he's never had an accident and we crate him all day when we're at work.    Weekdays are fine--we take him out in the morning, after breakfast, right away after work, after dinner, and at bedtime.  The problem is mostly on weekends when we don't crate him all day--we want to hang out and play with our dog while we're home.

I know he'll get it eventually and I know beagles have a bad reputation for being stubborn, I've just been frustrated lately.  We're going to get bells once we get thawed out here--hopefully the cats won't mess with them too much.

Don't worry.  I'm actually surprised no one else said it.  And for the record, he does know how I feel and we're working on it.  Thanks for your concern, I do appreciate it.

wow.
• I confess that I am scared to death to get pregnant before the wedding because I could lose my job. I work at a religious higher ed institution so they have the leeway to do that if they wanted to. I further confess that I have suspicions so Im going to buy a test on my way home from work. I am probably just crazy and worrying too much..

• Careful, manda. That shiit's a slippery slope.

Although I may do the same if my company was planning unspecified layoffs in the next couple of days.

Full disclosure: today is the holiday party (that had been delayed due to weather). Since no adult beverages shall be provided I brought in enough to spike one cup. I haven't been sitting here sipping all day.

Edit: ok, maybe two cups...
• I confess when Manda said clear liquid I gagged b/c I'm a beebee and couldn't take straight shots.

This is actually very funny.

I think I got worried when I saw what you wrote at first b/c a good friend and colleague who worked with me a few years back was drinking before/during work and I had to deal with the associated HR debacle.
• Nebb - the dog article is interesting.  I adopted a 6 year old GS and she lived outdoors prior.  She is so smart it amazes me.  It's hard to explain but I feel like when I'm asking her to do things she just knows and does it.  I never have to physically show her how to sit, lay down, give the paw etc.   She was so isolated before I'm always shocked when she picks up things quickly.

• My parents had an English Springer.  That thing was too damn smart for her own good.  I'm happy to see they're number 13 on the list!
• Fi's mom has a standard poodle.  She must be a stupid poodle because she is not second on that list.  No sir-ee.

• Yeah, I confess that after seeing that list I resent FI a little for insisting on a beagle, when I wanted a golden retriever.

I do love him.  But he is not smart, at all.

• AC - don't believe everything that you read.  The worst part about it for me has been having to be up every 2-3 hours to feed.

Talk to a lactation consultant in the hospital if baby has problems latching, as that's the biggest reason for a lot of the horror stories.
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

Brie, I generally like you.  But if you adopted a dog without knowing the breed, I'm going to side eye you a little.  If you said yes to a beagle without knowing they are kind of dumb (but very loveable), that is your own fault.
• My family has had 2 smart beagles (the girls) and two dumb ones. We had a yellow lab who was the dumbest dog I've ever met, but it maybe have been due to a lack of training when he was little (before we had him).

Manda, I went to a Catholic school. They had to ban unsealed water bottles at one point for that very reason.

also, the dog we were on the verge of adopting (was going to meet her this weekend) was adopted to someone else last night. i'm majorly upset. and ashamed that i'm upset because a sweet houndy got her forever home with people that really want her...wtf is wrong with me?
