Private Message LOL

I just got this in my inbox, in reply to a thread from what... 2 weeks ago?  Hilarious.

But, for the record, sweetie- our vows didn't include the traditional 'for better or worse'.

Why get married at all?

I hope your fiancee/husband already knows your view on this subject. Why even get married at all if your promise to each means that little to you? I can't believe people like you that go into marriage thinking divorce IS an option. So when you say 'for better or worse' you are really only saying...'for better.'

Re: Private Message LOL

  • Weird. The "is divorce an option?" thread got added to the newsletter this week, so there are lots of newbs replying to it. I can't believe someone would PM you over it though.
  • I cannot tell you how much I hate those newsletters!!!
  • Lol? Divorce isn't the friggin' Easter bunny, it's always an option. Just because it's not one some people will take doesn't mean it ceases to exist.
  • Ahh, that's probably why.  I wondered where it was coming from.  I wonder if she messaged everyone who said that divorce is an option?  It's so self-righteous, it just makes me laugh.

  • Hahahha.  I can't believe she sent you a PM.  If anyone here should have gotten a snotmail like that  . . . well, it shouldn't have been you, Kiki.  What a dork she is.
  • I'm pretty sure I said divorce was an option, but I have no PM.

You must have been more convincing in your hatred for marriage.

  • Yeah, at least Annie gave us a heads up this time, or I'd be pretty confused too.

I never get why people make discussions like these so personal.
  • I'm going to hell for a lot more than believing in divorce!

You mean your entire life isn't completely undermined by the opinion of a stranger on the internet?
  • I'm sorry, but what you guys do in your lives DIRECTLY IMPACTS ME, Ok? Directly.

  • stfu..... did you message her back??

and divorce is always an option, its a last option, but anyone who says its not an option EVER is naive IMO

  • But if people get divorced, THE GAYS WIN!

    Wait, what?

    image
  • I wonder if she wants a response...or what the point was behind that..
  • If you are able to get divorced, pretty soon ANIMALS will be getting divorced. DO you want to be responsible for that? DO YOU?!

No, but there are these lesbians I go to church with...their marriage is totally devaluing mine.

  • Jesus, I just revisited the last page of that thread.  The sanctimony there is being laid on pretty thick.

    Lol!
  • That's so weird that she would write you a PM about that.

I noticed that the "Divorce is not an option" thread has been blowing up. Did she send that to you today?

Their horses are wearing stilts, let me tell ya...

And the horses are ONLY that talented because they don't believe in divorce. If you would like some extra talent blessings thrown your way, please change your perspective.

  • Yeah, I got it today.  I'm not replying- I would probably hurt her feelers.

  • You should just tell the rest of us what you would like to say to her. She may find it eventually.

I wandered over the the HR poll from the newsletter this morning. That was an interesting combo. I think the last post I read was "People who don't like HRs are just living in the past, etc" Something along those lines.

  • Why you and not the other 90% of the people in that thread who agree with you?

  • Uh, good point fish.  Although, I have a feeling she won't be hanging out here with us heathens.

Gah, I just went back to that thread... it's disturbing.  Why can't people just feel the way they feel and not worry about what other people are doing?  "You made a COMMITMENT!  You can NOT get divorced!  EVAR!"  I really hope those people never have to face a very unhappy situation with their husbands... although, I'm sure they'll just stay married and miserable until the day they die a miserable death.

I especially like the one who worded her response

"Truth:blah blah, divorce isn't real, blah blah, you are all bad selfish people who don't know what love is..."

  • And how are there so many people that are SHOCKED by the idea that people get divorced?  Hello, have you SEEN the divorce rates?

    image
  • Yeah I didn't get a PM either and I definitely believe divorce is an option.
I did just find another PM when I went to check though from a couple weeks ago. (Which shows how often I check my PMs.) Some girl telling me how mean I was for some reason that I don't even remember. I'm SHOCKED.

  • mkrupar, that's a good point about the man they're marrying not wanting to work on it.  One of my good friends is divorced, and she said she never "believed" in divorce... but, surprise, her husband sure did!
