quick question

I need advice from the experts...
I am a trainer. I had a girl in my most recent training class who is getting married this weekend. We talked about our weddings during breaks and shared dyi project ideas. She finished the training about 3 weeks ago and went to work for another supervisor.
Today she emailed me that she wanted to bring by an invitation. She brought it when I wasnt around and left  the unaddressed envelope at my desk. The wedding is this Sat.
I will not be able to attend the wedding because I am working and would not be able to get to the location until 1 1/2 hours after the start.

Here's the question...
Do I buy her a gift?

Re: quick question

  • If it hadn't been such late notice, would you have gone to the wedding? Did you plan on keeping in touch with her after training was over? If it were me, I don't think that I would have attended, regardless of the time frame, or bought her a gift.
  • I would probably just send a card, particularly if you don't plan on continuing to have a relationship with her long-term.

  • I would do a card.
